A Night at the Four Seasons (DM: renau1g, Judge:Ozymandias79)

"I'm no m'lady, but I still owe you one, Damen," Phoenix says, smiling at the drow before turning back to the battle.

"What happened dragon? Don't play with fire if you can't take the heat." Another blast of blue flame explodes on the beast's side as the phoenix swoops above it and lashes out with its claws.

OOC: The flaming sphere/phoenix has never been lower than 3 squares off the ground btw guys, so you can pretty much ignore it unless you're flying.

I'm assuming the pink poison aura moves with the dragon? If not, Phoenix takes 5 damage.

Dragon takes 13 fire damage now slides East 1 square, 14 more at the start of its turn.

[sblock=Actions]Minor: Sustain Flaming Sphere.
Standard: Freezing Burst(burst 1, centered in T18, 1 square above the dragon): 1d20+10=20 Reflex, hit, 1d6+11=12(1, reroll), 1d6+11=13 fire damage, slide it to T19-U20.
Move: Flaming Sphere moves to T19(1 square above dragon). It will take 1d4+11=14 damage at the start of its next turn.

Status: bloodied

I could try to stun it, but I was hoping to get my daily off at some later point. This doesn't look like it will be easy adventure. What do you think?

Damn thing flies and there is nothing we can do about it? I would like to move away, but it can just take off and attack again.

OOC: This is L4W so adventures tend to be hard and renau1g is pretty much the deadliest DM(of course, he's also the most prolific, so he's had more opportunities than most of us). :p

Considering it's not even bloodied yet, almost everyone is bloodied, and multiple people have been KO'd already, I'd say it's probably time to use anything you have left.

[sblock=ooc]
Aura does move.

I have noticed that adventures here tend to be more difficult than a RL game, I think if there was 8-10 encounters/level taking an average of 1 month or so per level we'd all be pulling out hair out. PC's here tend to be a bit more optimized as well (plus getting free expertise and 25 PB).

I believe covaithe is actually deadlier than me on a per adventure basis, he's got 2 kills from around 3-4 adventures, I've killed 4 PC's from 9 adventures (incl this one). I've also not yet killed a PC in LEB FWIW...

OOC:
I won't be able to post until Tuesday, which doesn't make much difference as I'm dying. Feel free to roll death saves for me, or if I miraculously awaken, post on my behalf until then. First move is Exacting Utterance on the dragon, unless it looks like lots of people won't be able to attack it next turn.

OOC: The thing is currently pinned near Papolstaanas. He can in theory stop it from flying, but he has to hit it (less than 50% chance of hitting its will defense with a weapon attack, which is just depressing)

OOC: I guess I'm right up there then. Covaithe is at about .5 PCK per adventure as are you.

I have 2 PC deaths from 4 adventures so that puts me at about .5 PCK too. For style points though, the ones I killed rose as zombies before they'd even hit the ground and immediately began attacking the rest of the party. :p

OOC: I'm cool with balls to the walls, hard fought fights. It's kinda exciting in D&D. Just so long as the DM gives appropriate extended rests and/or lowers the rest of the encounter back to on par or one higher or one lower then on par.

Cause if r1 say decide to throw another one of these fights at us without an extended rest. Well we might as well just hand over our sheets to him and call it a day. All of us having expended all our dailies, and item powers. Most of our healing surges, if not all of them will be used up by the end of the encounter and a couple healing potions. Nothing worse then a battle that's lost even before it's begun to a player. Just hope it's realistic is all.

Though I have enjoyed the edge of your seat battle played through so far. Great job r1.

BTW who are we waiting on? I think I'm confused. Heh.
