A Night at the Four Seasons (DM: renau1g, Judge:Ozymandias79)

Tarkus opens his eyes to see a blur of desert sky.

"So I'm not dead," he mutters. "Juna has not abandoned me yet."

As his eyes focus the dragon's head looms into view. "Juna, stay with me a while yet!" he gasps.

He gathers his strength to rise...

[sblock]
Seems unlikely that Papol will come drag me out of here, so I'll roll my death save now...

Save vs death (1d20=20)

Boom! I am awake!

OOC: LOL. This means that if I move into range, I now have a better-than-even chance of having to attack Tarkus, because he just got up.

It would actually be worth the risk if he weren't prone.

Edit: Oh what the hell.

"Well, someone finally did something about the giant--what is that? It's a--it's a large--actually rather a small--anyway shouldn't it be--"
Papolstaanas comes running toward the dragon, but stops abruptly. A whirlwind gathers near the creature, stirring up dust and small rocks, but instead of engulfing the monster it darts sharply back, lifts Tarkus, then drags him painfully over the stones and shoves him right onto Papolstaanas's sword. "Hah! I got it, look at--somehow it's a lot smaller now, but anyway!" the kobold exclaims happily, completely unaware of what he has done.

[sblock=actions etc]Papol should still be at 28 hp. He got thrown out of the vent before the start of his turn last time.

Minor: shifty--shift to O24

Move: to S19

Confusion roll to avoid attacking the wrong person: 1d20=17 oops. Tarkus is closest.

Standard: lodestone lure (aug 1) on Tarkus. Vs Will: 1d20+8+2=30 OH, FOR PITY'S SAKE. That's 4 damage, +4 (headsman's chop) + 1d8=5 (crit) = 13 damage. Tarkus is pulled to R18 and can only move to squares adjacent to Papolstaanas, should he suddenly regain the capacity to move... My profoundest apologies :(

Save vs. confusion: 1d20=3 and that's five. That's it. I've lost the internets.[/sblock]

Hey, if you just moved me out of that dragon's aura, I'm all for it. I started the round with -5 hp, healed up to 7 when I made that save, and then you just hit me back down to -6 but I'm not in the aura. Good trade: I'll take it.

Kaeysari winces as Papolstaanas manages to knock Tarkus down again.
"Hold on," she sighs, "I'll see what I can do."
Carefully avoiding getting too close to the dragon, Kaeysari moves as swiftly as she can to a position beside her kobold friend and the fallen priest.

The group manages to put down the massive scorpions, leaving only the dragon remaining, however the eladrin's foul magic continues to affect the kobold.

The dragon leaves Phoenix again, moving to engage the group of adventurer's clustered. It's teeth snap shut on Kauldron, leaving a flaming wound, while its claws slash out and leave Kauldron reeling. Then the beast focuses on the shifter and kobold, but the duo manages to avoid its attack.

[sblock=OA]MBA: 1d20+6=21 AC. If that hits, 1d4+4=5 fire damage(ignores resist, as usual).[/sblock]

OOC: Unless someone can somehow move Phoenix a square to the west, she's going down as soon as her turn starts...

Seeing multiple of his comrades in danger, the choice was easy. Damen dashes across the sand and nimbly dodges the ball of fire to appear at Phoenix's side. This should provide some assistance, m'Lady, he says, indicating the potion in his hand. As the potion takes affect, the drow nods towards the ball of fire. Now, do you mind moving that a bit away?[sblock=OOC]Its Phoenix or the tin can, and I'm hoping those closer can help Kauldron (and he has further to go before he dies outright). Move to P12 (looks to be 6 sqs of movement) and use standard to administer the potion he had in hand: Phoenix spends 1 HS and regains 10hp.

If AC/Ref hit (like, but an exploding aura), use Slip Aside to reduce damage by half as an II unless it looks like a +4 to defenses will make it miss, then use Cunning Escape to make it miss and shift away towards cover.[/sblock][sblock=Damen]Damen Bane—Male Drow Thief 6

[sblock=ooc]Papolstaanas can pull the dragon SE if Kaeysari moves first.

I think my best move, if I could manage it, would be to go to O20 or N20 and pull the dragon from there. But Cyr would have to be more than 2 squares away from me so that I don't hit him. If I could pull that off, Kaeysari can pick up Tarkus and carry him somewhere, and Phoenix hangs on for another turn.

Edit: posted at the same time as Stonegod's post. Also I think Cyr is in K21.[/sblock]

"Come along, sir," Kaeysari says to the unconscious Tarkus. "We'll get you to safety. Papolstaanas, can you keep this thing off of us?"

"Wait--" says Papolstaanas, then stares in growing horror as Kaeysari pulls Tarkus away from his bloody sword. He looks back and forth between Tarkus and the dragon. How could he possibly have--how could anyone make such a mistake?

"Something's wrong with me," he mutters, stepping back from the dragon while watching it carefully. "I--I have to concentrate. He's Tarkus, and she's Sa, Sara, um--" he falters. "And that is a..." He stares intently at the monster. "Dragon? Is that... it can't be... it looks, a bit like one of my brothers, actually... Sesseneek flares his nostrils just like... Well, I don't like Sesseneek, so I guess that's good, it helps me focus--al, although, it's not fair to kill something just because it reminds you of your nasty big brother, is it..."

Fortunately, while he is babbling, a strong gust of wind drives the dragon right next to him and away from his friends. When it dies down, a single dry twig remains stuck on top of its head.
