A Tasty Treat

If you're like me and have a tendency to eat and eat and eat during game sessions, I found a fat-free brownie mix that actually isn't bad. A healthier alternative to an endless stream of chips and dip.

No Pudge Brownie

They're nice and thick and fudgy. Don't expect them to be the best brownies you've ever had but I, a chocolate aficionado, was not disappointed. The other girls agreed. Even the guys liked them--including the guy who said that he'd rather have a dead rat in his mouth that eat a fat-free brownie.

Now the key to all of this is you have to have one person in your group who is willing (and able) to mix them up and stick them in the oven.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this is NOT a healthier altenative. Fat-free? So What?! The only healthier altenative is to eat raw vegetables instead of anything cookie, chips, and what not. From a guy who lost 50 lb. in six month without suffering from starvation, I know what I am speaking about.

I love this phrase! :D I will certainly find a use for it someday "I would rather have a dead rat in my mouth than eat this thing you cooked!" :p

When you cooked the brownies and cut them up in to individual sizes, how many did you get?

The servings per bag is 12. So if you got less than that you were eating at least 120 calories per brownie.

The point is, who cares if it's no fat or not. Intaking calories + not burning off those calories during the day = you get fat. Doesn't matter how much fat is in it. It's all about calories.

1g fat = 9 calories
1g carbs = 4 calories
1g protein = 4 calories

So it's 120 calories per brownie and 68 of those come from sugar (17g of sugar). Yikes!

I'm not saying that the brownie are healthy, I'm just asserting that if you are going to eat one or the other, the brownie is better.

1 oz. of potato chips (And how many of us actually stop at 1 oz. of potato chips?)
Calories 151 ( Kilojoules 630 )

Total Fat 9.6 g 15%
Saturated Fat 2.5 g 12%
Cholesterol 2 mg 1%
Sodium 177 mg 7%
Total Carbohydrates 14.6 g 5%
Dietary Fiber 1.5 g 6%
Sugars -
Protein 2.3 g
Calcium 20.4 mg
Potassium 378.0 mg

One 2-inch square baked brownie (1/16th of pan) has 100 calories, 0g fat less than 1g fiber, 21g carbohydrate, 14g sugar, 2g protein, 4% calcium and 6% iron

Now the information is assuming that you get 12 brownies and we cut 10 brownies.

Opposed to a regular brownie:

Total Carbohydrates 52 g 17%

I'm NOT saying that the No Pudge brownie is by any means healthy. But if you couldn't get your group of friends to eat a vegetable on game nights if they were guaranteed immortality, this isn't the worst alternative out there. If calories are what counts, then chips and dip are worse.
