Any item that can make me immune to a specific spell

I have looked in many books and the only thing i found was the counter spell ring from the DM's guide. But that goes away after the holder of the ring is attacked by that spell. I want to be immune to the effect of scorching ray. Can anyone suggest a way ?

Spellward shirt, a soulmeld from Magic of Incarnum when bound to the heart chakra grants total immunity to four chosen spells of up to sixth level.

However, it would cost a feat to learn to shape... I think. And you'd need a source of essentia. It also grants spell resistance equal to 5+ the essentia invested in it.

Granted, if you haven't access to the book, it will likely sound like gibberish.

You could look to the brooch of shielding (immunity to magic missiles but limited number) for a precedent, and develop an anti-scorching ray item. There are a few other items scattered around that grant immunity to a specific spell but I can't remotely remember-it's a rare phenomenon. In any case, by the RAW such an item is based off a 5th level spell (spell immunity) and thus would be very expensive. I don't know why scorching ray in specific is such an issue but I agree that fire resistance items are more useful and cost-effective.

A greater ring of fire resistance would work. It protects against 30 points of fire damage per attack. Since each ray only does 4-24 damage, you'd be immune except against an empowered casting-- and even then, only an unusually high damage roll would even touch you.

I want such an item because i take part in an evil campaign and we have a wizard in the party who plays only with scorching rays and uses metamagic feats to make them better. Knowing that i can defeat him at any time is a good boost for my rp in the party... Resistance to fire is a good idea but that wizard always prepares rays of different energy tupe damage (a metamagic feat upon them).

An item to use Spell Immunity? Another level 4 spell option is Ray Deflection, from Spell Compendium. Makes you immune to all rays.

Granted, in either case, if using an item, the CL will likely be low, and he'd be smart enough to (quicken?) dispel magic on you first...

Another idea, and much cheaper: Ring of Silent Spells from Magic Item Compendium. It costs a little over 2k, and is a swift action to activate. I forget, I think it's only once/day, but it could be 3 times. Anyway, it casts Silence around you. It also lets you cst some 3rd level or lower spells within the silenced area as if you had Silent Spell applied, but that's less important for you. Main thing is: quick activation, dirt cheap, and will get the job done most likely -- at least the first time. Then he'll just buy a metamagic rod of silent spell. :)

How high is your PC's level? And can he/she has spell casting ability or at least descent UMD? Those information will change which magic items are good for your PC.
