Battlestar Galactica Feb 11 2005 {Spoiler Talk} Cable/TV

Truth Seeker

Adventurer
"Litmus", Episode #106.
When a Cylon suicide bomber kills three, Adama must reveal to the public that Cylons now look human.

Cast: Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, Grace Park.

The same rule is still in effect: For those who already know...shhhhhhhhhh!

Now, I am waited to see the look on the chief engineer face, when he gets the news personally(this not a spoiler, that scene was shown in advance, about two shows back), and how the FRAK he going to handle this.

Well, he didn't get the scene we were expecting. She played him like a cheap violin. Though I get the feeling Cylon-Boomer was in control when he broke up with her, rather than Human-Boomer. She was just too... distant, at first. And forced afterwards.

That said, the acting was superb, once again. You could almost feel the verbal slap when Adama dressed-down the flight chief at the end, there...

And how!!! Meanwhile...a space voilin is playing...somewhere...in deep space

This was pretty good. Granted, where the Tribunal was going to go was easily guessed, but I love how Adama asserted his authority over that which is indepedent and even civilian.

As a friend of mine asked me when it was going on. "Did Baltar's mental construct just throw him into a wall?" Odd scene...if she can do that, she could do a heck a lot more.

Nice Incredible Hulk line from the sexbot.

Although the best was Adama's "I'm a softie." It works on so many levels, because he really is a softie ... way way way way way way way way way down inside.

And I didn't forsee him dissolving the tirbunal like that.

Finally, is Halo the most screwed person in sci-fi? Nobody else is coming to mind.

I missed it!!

I was out at an early Valentine dinner last night and missed this and SG1.

Could some one please give a semi-detailed summary?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it will be on Monday at 10...I believe.

Great, great episode. Adama is definitely the most interesting character to watch. As for Baltar being thrown into the wall...its more like he threw HIMSELF into it. Yes, odd, but he's crazy. :)

One minor nitpick that is starting to get to me a bit.

Helo is stranded behind enemy lines and yet he never manages to see the two or three individuals who are continually silhouetting themselves against the skyline. People standing on top of things with the sky to their back really stand out and are very noticeable. There is no way Helo would not have spotted them.

Other than that I have been very happy with the show so far (well I didn't buy the fly-by-tendon control system on the Cylon raider, but you can't have everything. :) ).

I didn't know whether to chuckle in appreciation or groan in annoyance at that one.

I settled on chuckle. :)

You're assuming that he ever bothered to look up. ;)

Seriously, I was wondering that as well last night. But, it's nice and dramatic looking, and not a terrible gaffe, so I'm willing to overlook it.

Halo was just a co-pilot before the Cylon attack, right? Does he lack the training for this kind of survival? He would have died long ago if the Cylons hadn't been helping him indirectly.

But that's just me justifying things. I'm sure the real reason he didn't look up was because it in the script.
