Finally, is Halo the most screwed person in sci-fi? Nobody else is coming to mind.

I think you're right. It's Helo, by the way.

I liked how Adama didn't pull a Picard on this one. Rather than go into the proceedings and make them all realize how foolish this all was, he just removed the inquisitor's authority just as easily as he gave it.

From the moment the woman asked for the authority to investigate wherever things led, I knew the term witch hunt would be used at least once in the episode. I'm actually kind of surprised that he agreed to allow her that much authority in the first place, especially since his father was a civil liberties attorney.

Halo was just a co-pilot before the Cylon attack, right? Does he lack the training for this kind of survival? He would have died long ago if the Cylons hadn't been helping him indirectly.

People tend not to look up in general, but a human outline against the sky is something that we tend to notice subconciously. If the cylons were standing in a top floor window, or if there was a wall behind them on the roof that masked their silhouette there is a good chance that Helo would not notice the. But standing there highlighted against the sky is something that he would pick up on very quickly regardless of training.

You do bring up an interesting question though:

What exactly would SERE school be like for a colonial warrior?

But that's just me justifying things. I'm sure the real reason he didn't look up was because it in the script.

Well duh! ;)

As things stand the series is done well enough that I can live with the minor annoyances, it's just fun to point them out. :)

Olmos is definitely kicking mucho tail in the roll of Adama, there is a lot of his old Castillo character being channeled.

That is a very good thing.

Casting Mary McDonnell as the president was also a major coup on the part of the producers.

Yeah that storyline was a no brainer, but it was a nice twist to see her have the cojones to actually go after Adama as well.

As a Marine I haven't been overly thrilled with the BG version being mooks (Hey look Starbuck just happens to be the crack sniper too! :\ ), but given the focus of the show (and the original) it is certainly understandable.

She had to go after him. Seemed to me like she was trying to cover the fact that this had all gotten through HER department(Security).

Hmm, hadn't thought of that.

Damn her little self satisfied smirk annoyed me though!

What got me thinking she was covering her own backside was when she started making all the comments to Adama about how he could have made Security better by doing this and that and this. To me, she sounded like she wanted to know what was going on with the Cylon thing(like everyone else) but had the power to attempt putting all the blame on Adama.

And yes, that smirk was very annoying.

Anyone else here noticed that Apollo wasn't in this episode?

Yeah, well I'm sure he was off the ship doing other things - like facing down old-red-eye, or dying and being resurrected on the ship of lights.

I remain consistently amazed at the ongoing quality of this show. It's little things, I think, that really do it for me. The fact that there are enlisted personnel aboard the ship, unlike Star Trek which appears to have 1 EM in all of Starfleet.

As to Helo not seeing the Cylons when they very clearly silhouette themselves: Hey! It's dramatic license. ;) You also have to give him the benefit of the doubt; he was (and probably still is) taking Radaway and who knows what the anti-rad drugs are doing to him.

I love the continuity. Starbuck is still in Medbay (or Sickbay? What do they call it?)

Will be interested to see how Adama's dissolving of the Tribunal comes back in future episodes...

Man, I wish more TV was this good.

Hey, one of the chief's boys are in the brig...I hope it is not long, they need all the good deck hands that they can got.

Ah well, Boomer#5, got the brushed off...the relationship is dead...or is it?
