Battlestar Galactica {Spoiler Talk} 3.4.05

My theory is that no known people are Cylons, although there's no current evidence to support or deny the theory. In order to do so, they'd need to grab all memories from the subject, and get the emotional reactions and abilities down just right.
But we don't know how long the Cylons have been producing human models, do we? How long has there been a boomer model around? At least a couple of years. Did the model actually have a childhood, or was it "released" after reaching physical adulthood?

Certainly, Col. Tigh's wife (Ellen) could have been a Cylon the entire time. Of course, we have a harder time making the same case for Lee or Bill Adama - that would necessitate a Cylon/human production beginning 20 or 30 years before the show starts - unless they can "copy" real existing humans, which I don't think they can (certainly if they could, it would be more advantageous than using the same models over and over again - they'd make better spies, as well).

So, if anyone besides Boomer is a Cylon, they must have *always* been a Cylon.

Ooh. A very good point - I'd buy that. The Adamas are prolly Cylon-free, but Ellen could be old enough to be a Cylon under those circumstances. She certainly wasn't planted as a duplicate, though, as was discussed/hinted at in the episode. She'd have to have been a Cylon since her model debuted.

I'm of the opinion that only full-grown humans can possibly be Cylons - I don't think they can clone someone and replace them with a Cylon, or create a child that will grow up. Boomer comes from a remote mining colony where an explosion killed anyone who could tell anyone whether she truly was born there or not.

I loved Apollo's reaction to the President when she referred to Adama thinking Ellen was a Cylon - "If she's not, we're in trouble..."

:( WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I miss all three shows on Friday, my VCR did not tape anything...long story. But I will be seeing BG tonight...everything else, they are not repeating.:(

Right. I agree completely.

And that´s the reason why I think she is not a Cylon. She is just an ordinary human who happens to be a nasty, evil, selfcentered bitch, reminding us that Cylons aren´t the only evil creatures in BSG.

My take is that the Cylons cannot build copies of persons already existing. But so far, I have no proof.

This I agree with. Just look at 6's reaction to what Caprica Boomer is going through right now and her jealously of Boomer's experience. They are quite obviously experimenting with their models and with the humans as to reactions, emotions and stress levels. And they have a God. Go figure.

I'm so glad that there will be another season so there will be more time to flesh out all these mysteries. :)
