Would that there WERE a "female Dwarvenkind", I would agree - but you must surely quit your charade to foist this stigma of gender on the proud Dwarven people! For shame, sir.

Do dwarven maidens have beards too?

At what age can one expect a dwarven lad to first start growing his beard? I wonder because I'm 32 and I've just grown my first beard (and so I'm very pleased to say.)

Out of curiousity, where did the notion of female dwarves without beards come from? I started playing D&D with the Basic boxed set and 1st Edition and, by god, female dwarves had beards! The first I had heard of dwarves without beards was in the Darksun setting, but that was males and females and they were bald too, so no biggy.

Why the shift? Is this another one of those Tanari/Baatezu:Demon/Devil things?

my guess.. it had a lot to do with SHE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED...

Ploy sir?

Nay, merely a quote of another authority proving the truth of my long-standing argument.

Brush aside my criticism if you like. I won't split hairs with you, nor tease you further on the matter.

I also prefer my dwarven women as paragons of hyperpilous pulchritude.

Dear Sir!

Dare you suggest that dwarves are not mammalian humanoids?

Such a position is indeed most laughable, and thus I again say, the jest is amusing, but it continuance takes us away from the lamentable mental condition of those who believe that female dwarves are beardless.

Crossly,
Gary

There's a Swedish RPG called Eon, where both male and female dwarves have beards. However, the females have a much softer texture to their facial hair, whereas that of the males almost reminds of steel wool.

to the best of my knowledge and belief, dwarven infants begin to grow noticable head and facial hair, coincidentally, at around 32 months of age.

Pedantically,
Gary

Platypi are mammals, yet they lay eggs like a bird would. A spider is an invertebrate sectioned creature, yet is not an insect. Dwarves should not be gauged on limited human standards. They are of the earth, they shall remain of the earth no matter what biological lies are laid at their doorstep.

Such a position is indeed most laughable, and thus I again say, the jest is amusing, but it continuance takes us away from the lamentable mental condition of those who believe that female dwarves are beardless.

Continue as you wish, but you only obscure the truth further.

Please!

All fermales, dwarves in particularly, will surely take umbrage at that depiction to which you direct the unsuspecting reader!

Agastly yours,
Gary
