Or, in other words, no. Tripping doesn't fit the definition of 'drop an opponent' for the purposes of Cleave. It's been addressed many times, and that's always the answer given.

tarchon said:While fruitlessly searching the FAQs for that (and wondering why on Oerth a monk would want Improved Trip in the 3.5 form), I noticed that destroying a mirror image can trigger a Cleave. Have a spellcaster (large and low-Dex, for low AC) stand behind you with mirror image and draw AoOs. Up to 8 AoO-Cleaves before you use up all of them! Of course, there's always a chance you'll hit the caster, but I'm sure he can take a few shots.
It's possible that you could interpret this to apply to any figments, so you could have the illusionist standing off and creating figments of puppies, say with Minor Image.Zimri said:Awesome since the parties illusionist isn't EXACTLY my posession I can use this as an ascetic. I am pretty sure owning a bucket of snails or puppies would break the vow where as this wouldn't.

For that matter, do figments even drop, let alone take damage?![]()
I think it's safe to say that the illusionist with the mirror images is save from his cleave-eager comrades.![]()
The funny thing is a spellcaster could actually do this without the fighter knowing it.Zimri said:Well see the goal isn't to cleave the illusionist. It is to have the illusion provoke an aoo from me so I can smack it, make it go away and cleave through to the BBEG. 6 times in a round would be nice so I could use all my AOOs
