Can a rogue use a giant's shortsword to sneak attack?

Would a rogue be considered proficient in a giant's short sword? Would it stay a 'light blade'? Just curious.

If the rogue is a giant, then yes

Else, No

a small hill would be considered a nice sized boulder for a titan... but in the hands of the warforged fighter, it is WAY too big.

No, you "can't use" weapons that are of larger size than you. I'm not sure if "can't use" is really defined anywhere, but i'm thinking at best you a)get no proficiency bonus b)don't benefit from relevant weapon feats/properties/etc. At worst you're limited using it as an improvised weapon and limited to the listed damage for its weight (not the weapons actual damage).

If there are specific rules that cover this, i've missed them so far in my readings.

PHB pg 220

Creatures can’t use weapons designed for creatures larger than themselves. A human can’t fit his or her hands properly around the hilt of a fire giant’s dagger, let alone use it as an effective weapon.
