Cleric Feat tips

First Post
Last session I gained a level with my elven cleric of Pelor. I just hit 9th level and really dont know what to choose. I already have Brew Potion, Combat Casting and Spell Penetration. I also have the Strength and Sun domains. My char doesnt have a good Cha so most feats from DotF are useless to him.

Im thinking of getting Empower spell or Improved Initiative, but I wanted something diferent or better. Empower spell is cool and I will take it at 12th level probably, because I dont see that many spells to empower now at 9th level. I know Improved Init is great for spellcasters, but I wanted something different.

I really liked the Lace Spell: Holy feat from the Book of Eldritch Might 1 and I was thinking of trying to talk my DM into making it a cleric feat. (Prereqs: Spellcaster 5th+, Int 17+ [would change to Wis 17+]). The feat does the following:
Lace spell: Holy - Changes the spells descriptor to [good] and adds +2 to the save DC if the target or creatures within the area are of evil alignment.
Would you allow it as a feat for a Cleric changing the Prereq of Int for Wis ?

Any tips would be great. If you are going to post a strange feat, please say what it does more or less and the source please.
Thanks,

You might want to look at Relics and Rituals 2...there are two feats that you might like...Sacred Defender and Healer's Benediction.

In the Book of the Rightious is a feat that the name escapes me. What it does is allows the cleric to spontaniously cast spells from one domain.

Alright since you ask

You only need levels in cleric to get these feats

Sacred defender allows you to, by expending one turning check, grant +1 sacred bonus to someone AC (you have to make a touch attack) per Cha Modifier. This last 1 round per level

Healer's Benediction, allows you to maxmize your cure spells equal to your Cha Modifier per die used. What that means is if you have a +2 modifer, you can maxime cure moderate and cure light but not a cure series.

The feats you guys said seem good feats, but my character doenst have a good cha, but ill save those for the next cleric.

Lace Spell: Holy would you guys allow it ?
Any other nice feats ?

I dunno. Mainly BECAUSE I want to see what "Hallowed" feats Monte Cook comes up with in December for "Book of Hallowed Might" in PDF.

No other feats though come to mind.

Quick draw can come in handy, when you're a combat cleric and you need to switch between weapons and spells often. Drawing a weapon as a free action can be the difference between live or death on higher lvl.

If you want to focus on spell casting and metamagic feats: take extend spell and than go for spell persistance (T&B). You can make you're spells last 24hr instead of a couple of rounds....... For example divine favor on 9th lvl gives you a +3 bonus on attack roll and dmg.

Improved iniative is alway nice to have, but since you don't have feats to spare as a cleric, don't take it.

Extend Spell and Persistant Spell are surely quite useful for a cleric, who tends to get into combat (keep those buffs running).

Another good one for you might be Reach Spell. Healing spells at range!

Empower would also be good. Give those Undead some taste of empowered Searing Light!

It hasn't been mentioned that I saw, but Scribe Scroll is a good clerical feat. Not a lot of cost in GP or XP, and have the stuff you need handy on a scroll.
