Converting Epic Level Creatures

ahh okedokey. The second one looks more reasonable and that way we dont have to nerf the STR damage.

Seems like we're agreed then.

Just to remind us, here's the original text:

From The Temple of Poseidon
Ythog-Nthlei can project scintillating beams of energy from his 4 large eyes at the rate of 1 per melee round. Each beam hits on a 4 or better and drains one point of Strength from its target for 1 turn unless the victim makes a saving throw.

Notice the eyebeams effect was temporary (1 turn = 10 rounds), so it wasn't actual Strength damage or Strength drain. That's similar to the ray of enfeeblement spell, which imposes a Strength penalty for 1 minute/level in 3E.

A standard ray of enfeeblement inflicts a 1d6 Str penalty plus 1 per 2 CLs, max 1d6+5. Four of those would be 4d6+20, which would render all but the mightiest foes helplessly weak.

Do we keep the saving throw of the original? A ray of enfeeblement doesn't allow a save.

i think a lesser amount of actual strength damage would be more reasonable imo. d4 or something.

Seems a bit low.

I think it ought to be enough that it reliably lowers the targets Strength modifier, so it'll need to be at least 2 points.

Maybe 1d6+1 or 1d4+1?

Im ok with 1d6+1 i thought thought it would be much considering how easey it is to hit with touch attacks and the fact were letting him do them in adition to attacking.
