D&D 5E D&D Cartoon Character Miniatures Are Coming!

Get official miniatures of the the 1980s D&D cartoon heroes in September for $29.95! The Dragons of Stormwreck Isle set is coming from WizKids and features slightly older versions of Hank the Ranger, Eric the Cavalier, Diana the Acrobat, and Presto the Magician, plus a cleric. There are only 5 miniatures, so there's no sign of Sheila the Thief, Bobby the Barbaria, or Uni the Unicorn.

These aren't technically the D&D cartoon heroes -- it appears that they're listed as Paladin, Cleric, Wizard, Fighter, and a Rogue. But they are clearly very heavily based on them.

And Eric get that sword that Bobby picked up in "The Dragon's Graveyard". It was able to cleave through rock like a hot knife through butter!

Yes he picked up a trident that deals lightning damage.

WotC staff have already stated that the cartoon characters are not in the adventure. They just show up in the art as a fun little nostalgia kick.

Yes. As I said, they appear in the art (including the art on the box cover) but that's it. They don't feature in the adventure itself. I don't remember who said that, but it was reported here on EN World.

Can rogues actually sneak attack with a quarterstaff? Seems weird not to call her a monk, particularly since Sheila should round out another pack.

Yeah, Diana always was my go-to example of a non-oriental monk in D&D media…

Anyone else wondering why Hank is shooting a plain-old-arrow? Shouldn't he have some sort of lightning, radiant, yellow thing. I guess to make the figure more appealing to use as a 'normal' PC in another game. Same reason that Presto is reading from his spell book and not using the hat. Isn't the hat of wizardry item made from this guy?

Still pretty sly to homage the cartoons so a parent will impulse by the starter set and then justify it by running games for their kids.

So a reimagining of the cartoon characters sans the original Unearthed Arcana cross promotional Class inclusions I guess?
