Well my original claim was critics don't like pop culture and "low brow" type films. Eg crude comedies, things like Fast and Furious.
I personally don't think thecworstvF&F film is lower than a 5/10 and a 38 is way to low which is approaching Highlander 2 or Robocop 3 type levels of bad IMHO (25% ish).
Films worse than that (yes they exist) are the 10-20% bottom feeders.
Essentially I'm saying critics are snobs and out of touch with films outside certain genres and what they like vs general audiences likes.
They're always gonna score big dumb films low but I would rather watch Blade 1&2 for example than most of the MCU. I understand if you don't like Blade or Fast and Furious (I'm not claiming they're great either) but I think they're better than those abysmally low scores the critics gave them(well Blade 3 is fairly bad).
The other point is critic scores won't do much to move the needle one way or another for the D&D movie. Hell Fast and Furious is billion dollar franchise despite low scores *its not made for critics) not to mention meh MCU and St⁸ar Wars films raking in other of cash.
I only use critic scores in some generes generally arty type films, Oscar bait type films or historical dramas. Fantasy, horror, action, comedy they're fairly useless.
