Nope. Read the DMG description. A Flaming burst weapon already counts as a Flaming weapon. Stacking rules later, and ......

Sage says "Just 1d10", which for a x2 weapon makes a Burst ability completely worthless.

For a x4 weapon, I believe it's still of some value - someone's sure to have done the maths.

It makes more sense to add them.

Yes, he does. Didn't Monte Cook respond to this by saying he intended the "burst" weapons to deal both the extra 1d6 and the 1d10? That is how I do it in my game, at any rate.

No, he doesn't (at least not anymore).

If I get a critical hit with a burst weapon (such as flaming burst) do I deal an extra d6 and extra d10

Yes. (See the DMG Errata).

The FAQ does not contradict this and the errata further supports it.

The value is small. If you have a keen scythe and improved critical you'll get the +3d10 less than 15% of the time. Even if you didn't have to confirm the critical hits, that only adds up to +2.475 damage per attack. This is less than a simple +1 energy enhancement (+1d6) gets you.
