I'm sure this one has been done before, but it's good to have the old topics come back and have fresh takes from time to time.

So. Do you use miniatures in your D&D game?

Vote for the most accurate statement.

Sometimes I use minis I painted. Sometimes I use unpainted minis. Sometimes I use tokens. I occasonaly just use a whiteboard or drawing. And often enough I don't use a physical representation at all...

I use a mix of self-painted or unpainted minis and fiery dragon counters. I like painted minis and hate the idea of randomized minis, but I'm no painting machine... I'll use minis mainly for party members and significant NPCs.

We used to have a ridiculous number of metal minis.

We still do - but we far prefer pre-painted D&D minis. These should get a category on their own, frankly.

I think it's safe to say in my gaming circle we now have well in excess of 7,000 D&D minis between the three collectors. We love em.

We use a combination of all the options. Heck we even tare apart post-its to make a "marker" for creatures over 10'x10' in size.

I use token and scraps of paper unless playing at the house of the guy with quite a few D&D mini's (the plastic ones) in which case we use those if possible

My vote would be "most of the above" I just got into doing my own painting, and I have a small raft of DDMs. Actually, the prepainted ones are what got me into painting my own.

I voted none of the above. I game over OpenRPG, so all of my minis are jpegs that I've "acquired" over the net. I have to admit that WOTC's DDM site makes great 30 pixel scale minis. :)
