Yeah, i have like a .001 percent chance against darien.
If that estimate is accurate, it's time for the epic character's last-ditch gambit. Invest all your money in two vorpal swords, plus one dancing vorpal sword, and hope for natural 20s. :D

Honestly -- not worth the effort (even with keen, improved-crit, weapon-master'd falchions and threat ranges of 10-20 --- 3.0 rules, remember). Both Darien and Eilendra have heavy fortification.

Simpl aving caster level forty should be good enough to bypass SR without all the Fortify Spell tricks.

Yes, but mine is a much cheaper option at (spell x caster) 9x20, instead of 29x40. For all of 4 less SR penetration.

Darien, i dont fight dirty. I dont like relics and rituals myslef and will not use any such junk against you.... Using it would make certain spells id use far too powerful (They are really over balenced, trust me.)
LOl, river will be done by sunday, sorry for the delay, dont have the time anymore.

I was under the impression that fortification prevented the multiplied damage from a crit, but not other associated special effects. For instance, wearing armor of heavy fortification does not prevent a flaming burst weapon from bursting.

::shrug:: Perhaps I've just conflated that with the 3.5 crit rules.

Relics and Rituals (the first one) isn't that bad. There are a few questionable spells, and the lack of prices for the items really bites, but other than that I think it's a very nice book. I've allowed players to use R&R in the face-to-face campaign I run and it hasn't caused any problems.

A few spells (like Convert and Salamr's Quiet Contemplation) were just plain tossed out.

You can bet that Darien will be using R&R (the Young, Valhalla legal version of him, not the older Epic one). :)

However, Relics and Rituals 2? Don't waste your time on this over-powered pile of BS! There are a few spells in there that wouldn't be that bad, but most of them are just plain wrong.
