Enterprise 11-05-03

A big boo to time travel and related nonsense.

That being said, a very enjoyable episode. Had some of the best acting from the actors that I've seen yet, good tension.

And always a big hurrah for space battles. :)

Am I the only one that laughed when Scott Bakula looked into the mirror at his own reflection?

I found the show to be entertaining and really didn't consider it to be a "space holder". It showed the price and the consequences of failure.

Reflecting on the show a bit more now I was struck by the level of acting, overall, and specifically of Jolene Blalock. The stone face of the Vulcan is something that is hard to maintain and still convey expressions without become cliche or doing too much; Nimoy having done the former with his eyebrow, and Russ having done the latter (perhaps in an effort to distance the character of Tuvok from that of Spock). Blalock does a great deal with her eyes that reads tremendously well on the small screen and I look forward someday to seeing her on the large screen, as well.

Yes it was an okay show. But I just turn 40 and getting tired of scific shows which the plot holes jump up and slap you in the face. How about this after the bridge is destroy, the elf and old fart send out a message which lures the other ship closer. They then overload the system boom and he back at +0 in sick bay.
Doctor the mummbles some technobabble about traces time particles.

Just turned 41, myself, and gave my thoughts on the supposed plot hole, which I don't see.

"Elf and olf fart"? :D I think you may just want to give up on ST altogether. :p

Enterprise - Twilight

After an accident on the Enterprise, Archer loses his short-term memory and begins to wake up every day not remembering anything from the day before.

First impressions:

Wow.

Ok, they've done stuff like this before on Star Trek, most notably the Voyager two-parter, "Year of Hell", but they handled this episode fairly well. Things were pretty bleak in "Year of Hell", but that was a happy episode compared to this one.
Earth and all human colonies toasted, most of humanity wiped out. Then the remants of humanity settle on a fairly harsh and barren world where there isn't much hope of survival -- in the Ceti Alpha system, the doomed system which gave birth to the Wrath of Khan. Even if the Xindi didn't find them at the end with a bunch of Yuridian sleazeballs, if this was the, what fifth planet? then humanity would have taken another nasty hit about 100 years in the future.
Wow, Sussman really knows how to write these.

Methinks the Andorians will be helping Archer in the Expanse all too soon.

One of the forthcoming episodes invovles
Shran on a mission to steal the weapon to use against the Vulcans or something
. There was a link to it in the Sci-Fi news links on the EN World main page about a week or so ago.

Yeah, I had seen similar news over at trektoday.com. Does anyone not like the Andorians, espcially when Jeffrey Combs in under those antennae? :D
