Epic Level Feats: I meet the pre-reqs, why can't I take it?

2) If you'd bothered to read any of the above posts, I have already explained how I got a 24 Dex. No point buy. I rolled a 3d6 and got a 16. So I put it into Dex. My racial modifiers, ability bumps at 4th and 8th level and a simple magic item from the DMG allows me the ability.

Mmm. Hm.

Lets see the rest of the character sheet?

Reveal, did you see my post just above? Let it go, please; he was being rude, it was inappropriate, and now it's over.

Thanks.

Sorry about that. I saw it after I had already posted. :(

If I showed the rest of my sheet, you'd probably think I WAS a munchkin. Combine a simple 3d6 6 times and luck beyond belief and you get the following rolls: 16, 15, 15, 14, 14, 13. I've never had that kind of luck with rolling stats and I probably never will again. ;)

I agree that if you look just at the pre-reqs, it doesn't seem that the feat is epic. And I feel that just slapping on a Level 21+ req is somewhat arbitrary. However, the description of the feat shows that this it is very powerful...certainly more powerful than any non-epic feats that you would take around 8th level. I think it would've been nice if the feat chain was longer or made up of requirements that could only be achieved by a high level character. Then again its tough to judge what level a character will take a particular feat especially when magic items can help satisfy the feat requirements.

A failed attempt at humor. I forget that this user is a tad touchy. :) And an apology is in order.

As a DM I was totally serious however. It's one thing to maximize the potential but the stat seems a little for my tastes. And the epic feat just screams of powergaming. If the person chooses to take that opinion and others that are similar personally (I assure you it was not directed that way) than don't ask.

One thing that strikes me as odd ... BAB +9 as a prereq for an Epic feat? ANY Epic character can meet that prereq, even a wizard or a sorcerer. Did someone at Wizards feel the need to use extra ink or something?

No wonder for the confusion.
