Grackle crawls a little closer and asks "We get shinies now? Scary room stopped shaking.....was it angry cuz we messed up slime on walls?"
"Actually, Grackle, I think that's just about as good an explanation as any we are likely to discover!"

Is it me or does taking 20 really neuter this module? I know we can't use it to disable the traps, but between Jillian and Fin they can average a DC 26 check (take 10, one aid's the other).

The coffers appear to be the sort once popular for funereal offerings. They are all roughly the sames size and nudging one or two produces a sound suggesting they contain coins or gems.

OOC: [sblock]Yeah the take twenty thing does take some of the fun out of it, but at least some of the traps, such as this one, are time sensitive. The old dungeon's still got a few tricks to play that will require more than taking 20 to overcome. I would say the players with good memories or a tendency to read up on traps have more on an impact on the threat level... [/sblock]

"Given the state of this crypt so far, I, for one would feel much better if we could find a way to open these containers without actually touching them."

"Given the state of this crypt so far, I, for one would feel much better if we could find a way to open these containers without actually touching them."

OOC: I guess you could leave them for the next party of adventurers to come this way. That should get them open without any of you actually touching them. Might take a while though...

Grackle Granitetop

"Grackle just make rocks open stuff, then." the gnome says, gibbering to conjure up some rockmen. Three gnome-sized piles of rocks rise up from the ground some 60 feet away from Grackle.

Then he gnashes his teeth and grumbles out something in Terran, telling the rocks to open the closest three boxes in that room. Grackle backs up a bit afterward, making sure he's about 30 feet or so from the room's entrance, climbing up the corridor's walls and ceiling if necessary to do so.

[sblock=OOC]Summon Monster IV to get 3 Small Earth Elementals. With Augment Summoning, each has 15 HP from higher Constitution and 21 Strength to open stuff with.

"Beautiful!! Excellent work, my wee gnomish friend," says Logan to Grackle.

While the coffers are in remarkably good shape the strength and tenacity of the Rockmen is up to the task. While the locks and most of the boxes are destroyed, the contents are freed. The first box contains 2 small vipers, the second box contains another 4 small vipers. The third box is torn asunder to spill 80 gold coins among the snakes. If so ordered the Rockmen could make short work of the snakes being immune to the venom.
