Friday the 13th: The Series - Fans Unite!

Angelsboi

First Post
This show ran from 1987 to 1990. Although cheesy when you look back on it, it had a lot of potential. I think it would have done way better today. I mean, look at all the supernatural TV Shows: X Files, John Doe, Buffy, Angel, Charmed, etc.

It was deffinately a show before its time.

So favorite episodes, actors, thoughts on it?

Salutations,

I enjoyed the show a lot- it was an interesting premise that allowed for a lot of possibilties.

It suffered from some poor writing at times- there were too many kill-to-heal items and the episodes dealing with Uncle V were fairly weak.

The only other weak spot was I recall Mickey not wanting to do anything with the store, but after the first episode she was full on board. Perhaps my memory has slipped.

The actors all did a pretty good job. Louise Robey was incredible to look at- which did not hurt at all.

Well i watched for Ryan Dallion. And i agree on the Heal to Kill Items. I guess they were trying to let us decide morality. Like in Dr. Jack: Surgeon had to kill someone to heal someone. Jack got hurt badly and needed emergency surgery. He had to benefit the use of a cursed object.

Robey was also a singer and married a count back in the early 90s (94 i believe) and they divorced in like 2001.

My favorite Episodes were Tales You Die, Heads I Live, Bad Penny and 13 o'clock

Not good with episode names, but the one with the Negli brothers was very creepy (in a fun way).

Also liked the multi-part episode in France, where Ryan ends up becoming a child again and Johnny takes over the lead role.

Do you remember the episode with Lolita Davidovitch in it? I think that was the one with the pool cue, but I'm not sure. She is credited as "Lolita David" in that ep.

I once saw the soundtrack for the t.v. show in a used CD bin and didn't buy it. Went back, and it was gone. This was about 10 years ago; I always look for it in used CD stores now, but I have never seen it. Maybe it's one of Uncle Louis' cursed objects! :D

It seems to me that timeliness and supernatural content are not sufficient to earn success. Otherwise, shows like "The Others" would have succeeded.

I absolutely loved this show!!!

Faves... hrmm... well, Jack was my fave character... as for episodes... the one with the wicker wheelchair (let a quadraplegic gal walk if she killed the 4 guys responsible for her paralysis), the time travel one with the cloak/cape clasp & a young Bram Stoker, the episodes with the compact (there were 2 or 3), the one with the necklace that granted wishes with each death (and the guy 'became' the rock starlet he obsessed over), and any one that had Louis Vendredi in it :P

I loved this show. It came on the same night that we used to play D&D, so I would always tape it and watch it when I got home. For awhile, they showed it and "War of the Worlds" back to back, and I would chuckle every time I saw the same actors show up in both shows as guest stars.

I liked the Friday the 13th episode about the Scarecrow. And the one about the cursed blanket at the Mennonite community. And the episode about the family that hunted -- was it werewolves? some type of monsters. They had killed the mother years ago.

The sad thing is i could name all of the episodes everyone has listed ...

I didnt get to see much of season 3 because Ryan Dallion wasnt in them and i stopped watching.

*sigh*

Soon i will have all 77 episodes on tape ...

The shows plots often sucked IMO but I kept tuning in

First, I thought the chemistry between the cast Chris Wiggins (Jack Marshack), John DeLamay (Ryan Dalion) and Robey (Mickey Foster) was great

Second: It was supernatural, in the 80's when that was on seeing that kind of TV was a rare treat

Third: Robey-- I don't need to say more, in fact I will let the attached pick speak for me

I often had the trio from Curious Goods as NPC's in my Lostboys/Friday the 13th the series/Twin Peaks/ Fright Night crossover game.

I recently raised that game as a Buffyverse game (adding Buffy, Near Dark, Angel and a few other things as canonoical) and its alomst certain I will have a guest visit from Mickey and Ryan in the game--- Or maybe Uncle Lewis heheheheh

There is a really good sight with the creepy theme music included here

I applaud you on the Robey geekage Angelsboi -- I didn't know she had divorced though.

Robey was a back up drummer with White Lion. She also did an awesome cover of One Night in Bancock (the Murray Head song) I wish I could get a hold of
