D&D 5E Has anyone made feats into tiers?

I classify feats into four groups, but I don't encourage or discourage any option.

Powerful - these are the ones that most people complain are OP, even though I disagree. Great Weapon Master and Sharpshooter are the most commonly associated with these.

Useful - these are ones that are just generally useful for any character design. Lucky and Resilient are examples of this.

Character Defining - these ones define what your character really is about. Lots fit into this category, but examples would be Crossbow Specialist, Healer, and Inspiring Leader.

Garbage - these ones aren't worth +2 to your primary ability (and many aren't worth +2 to your secondary ability). Many consider them trap options, and they will simply never get selected except under strange circumstances. I've tried making them better, to the point of combing the ability of 2 of these, and they still never get chosen.

It was just a random thought when I posted this; but the concept was having 2 different 'paths'.
One gives ASI or Powerful feats and the gives the Character or Garbage feats.

In essence you'd get more total feats than normal, but less of the powerful ones than currently.

Interesting idea. I think you'd need 3 paths instead of 2. But that could work.

I reward players that make sub-optimal choices in favor of role playing motivated feats. This is usually by building stronger story elements around their PC because they exhibit more interest in story than power.

I'd rather reinvent or revisit feats to make them closer to what they used to be in previous editions, but within the parameters and design goals of this one. Or just ignore them altogether. 5e plays perfectly without them.

How exactly are you doing that?

I had only thought of it a few hours ago so no current plans.

Concept on the spot, without in depth thought:
This really depends on your power level and how you sort feats into high/low power
Currently every class gets an ASI at 4, 8, 12, 16, 19
Change to:
4, 9, 14, 19 for ASI or any high or low feat.
Classes with more than the basic 5 ASI, keeps them.
add low feats at:
3, 7, 11, 15, 20

Could you please post your lists?
