There is always something along the lines of facilitator, coordinator, or assistant. If you want to take the authority out of the name.

No. Like I said it is more like a Paladin's Aura.

Turtle Tactics: Anyone who follows your plan get +1 AC and advantage on Strength saving throws.
Skirmish Stance: Anyone who follows your plan get +10ft Speed and advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
Have to be careful the 3e marshal was so passive from what I hear it completely lost all spark and sense of tactical choice.

As long as any healing they have is magical or very minor I'm good. If they try and give them the ability to heal a lot of hit points quickly without magic, that's when the concept falls apart.
I've always wondered why this remains a sticking point. 5e has ways to heal quickly without magic; Second Wind, spending Hit Dice, the Healer Feat.

Given how abstract hit points have always been claimed to be, it shouldn't really matter how you regain them, should it?

Ideally I Would have tactics have passive and active portions

Turtle Tactics.

Passive:
Anyone in your Command Area who follows your plan get +1 AC and advantage on Strength saving throws.
Active: You may take an action and anyone in your Command Area who follows your plan can take the Dodge action as a bonus action until the start of your next turn.
