Way that I see it, we can start the killin' now, or I can try and intimidate this guy. But if it doesn't work (and we are lookin' suspicious) that means that I don't get an attack this round.
and with that Kahru moved, dashing across the room towards the eastern gong, and as he got near he swung about to interpose himself between it and the armoured bugbear, using the momentum to cleave Waythe down towards the creatures armoured head
He wasn't the lying type. Perhaps he was too earnest for dishonesty. The young warrior was already drawing his rapier, even as he spoke the words. He deftly stepped out of the way of Kharu's charge.
OOC:
Deception: 3
Edit: Have we disabled both gongs? or just the Western one?
Doc was figurin' he might try and scare off the new varmint, but when he see Kahru charge in, he reckons it is time for the peacemaker to start talkin'.
He snaps off two shots from the pistol, pleased with hisself that his aim is comin' back true.
The bugbear captain reached for his morninstar as Kahru sliced him with Waythe. He grunted in pain, but survived for the moment in spite of the deep gash. But as he turned to fight, shouting in the goblin language of the betrayal, his words were cut of by two sharp bangs and an eerie wail, and a hole appeared where part of his head had been. He fell on the floor at Kahru's feet.
OOC:
Well, that was a very tough bugbear. Not that tough, mind you. I'll let Donnell's attempt at deception pass without using his action - I don't think he'd have gotten it out in time. So Donnell, the Colonel, and Gimlak can still go for what would count as Round One. The Eastern Gong is not disabled yet, but Kahru is near it. Doc & Donnell are on the other side. There's 60ft between the two gongs.
Donnell didn't hesitate despite the sudden explosion of violence. He sprinted, long strides, that took him across the room in seconds. Dagger still in hand and bedroll over his shoulder, he threw the roll beneath the gong and started cutting the rope that held the gong.
At this point, he wasn't even sure if the bugbear's shout had already raised the alarm but he decided to complete the job he'd started.
As the first rope broke, he guided the swinging instrument into the bedroll and started cutting the second rope.
The Colonel follows the others, his hands, empty, sparks dancing on his fingertips.
He moves himself adjacent to the nearest bugbear, but his eye remains on the one in front. with a turn of his wrist, he calls to it -- "Up now." And he hopes that he will see it flying into the sky.
OOC:
From where the Colonel is, 35' movement will put him in row 53, on the NW corner of Bugbear 1 (one square needs to be a diagonal move, which I thin kis okay). That means if this guy continues moving away, he'll take an opportunity attack, which will be shocking grasp.
The spell the Colonel is casting, though, is Levitate, on Bugbear 2, hoping to cast him up in the air, and stop him advancing. He gets a DC18 save or is lifted up to 20' in the air. That is what is now taking his concentration.
EDIT: I am not sure if one of these two is already dead, or if that was another one. In any case, the Colonel is trying to stop him getting away, and throwing him into the air and keeping him there seems fun.
I think we've all gone this round, but I am not quite clear on positioning. The BBB (Big Bugbear) has been downed, but BB1 and BB2 are still around. Believe they left through the door, but the last map has them in the room and that's where Colonel went to attack BB2. @FitzTheRuke
