Realizing that, by going in, they'd soon be overwhelmed, Donnell shouted,

"Colonel! Inverted wedge! I'll be point."

Donnell moved towards the door and drew out his shield, waiting for the oncoming wave, although, with Kharu already in the room, it may too late. He'd let the Colonel decide the best course of action.

OOC:
Draw sword as my item interaction, move to DC57 then draw shield as an action.

Even as the Barbarian dashed in and scanned the room he heard Donnell calling tactics to the Colonel and even though the red mist of rage might be clouding his judgement the squire seemed to be speaking with wisdom.

Kahru looked up and his gaze swept across the room to spot the crowd of bugbears, grabbing at weapons. Immediately, his steely thews tensed and he leapt back over the bed towards the door. He would stand his ground there though, weilding Waythe against the room full of hairy assailants as he signaled to the Colonel to withdraw with him. Like bait on a hook pulling in the fishies to be slain

... its not cowardice, is strategic withdrawal!

ooc: :D

Gimlak flies behind Donnell He mumbles guttural sounds, and a faint mote of fire leaves his hand and explodes in the room. As the explosion grows, he telekinetically pulls the Colonel back.

OOC:
Move to dd 51 and he is 15 ft above the ground.

Bonus action, telekinetic shove on Colonel 5ft pull back (not 100% necessary as he is not in the range of the spell, but it seems that there would be a shockwave, so it's a curtesy to him).

Action, cast fireball centered on DE65. This should affect all the bugbears in the room

DC 17 dex save or 25 fire damage

Accounting -1 3rd level spell slot

Gimlak AC18 HP 72/72 THP 14/14 HD 10/10 PP12 SSdc17 4/4 3/3 1/3 3/3 2/2 SpP 7/12

The Colonel feels him being pulled back, and he lets it happen. At the same time, he knows that the fireball won't be enough, and so he acts, as a peal of thunder emanates from him, rattling the bugbears to their bones.

OOC: If pulled out of reach there's no opportunity attack. If not, though, he'll take an attack from BB1.

The Colonel moves to DF59 (and so within reach of BB2, and casts Thunderwave, which creates a 15' cube from DG-DI 61-63 (catching all three in the right-side room). Thunder damage = 2d8=8, and everyone and everything is pushed 10' away. -- DC18 save for half and not push. [[if for whatever reason, none are there, then he'll cast it where he stands, affecting BB1 and 2 EDIT: at DB59, affecting the northernmost two remaining.]].

He can then move back to DE57 (risking an AoO from BB2).
Spells left: 2, 1, 3, 3, 2.

The "hornet's nest" was stirred, and bugbears began to rush toward the Colonel, and Kahru, as the northerner entered the room. Then Donnell suggested a smart formation, and Kahru leaped back toward the door as there was a whoosh of air and the entire room burst into flames. Gimlak hovered, seeing his handiwork from a high angle. The straw mats were on fire, and bugbears' fur was singed and smoking as they patted themselves out. Three of the bugbears fled out the back door, while one smothered his own bed's fire with a blanket.

The others rushed for the door, where they caught Kahru on his way to join Donnell's wedge. They pummelled at him with morningstars, but he was able to duck and parry most of the blows, while only taking a grazing thump to the shoulder. Kahru took a swipe at one, with Waythe, but he was too busy defending for it to have much behind it.

OOC: Only BB3 & 9 made the save. BB7,8,9 ducked out the 'back door'. Only BB4 was able to get Kahru, for 17 damage (still raging, I think, so 8 damage).
