Donnell lowers his shield and there’s a look of relief on his face. He looks at the smashed floor where the giant barely missed him with its cudgel and the squire lets out a long sigh. He nods a “thank-you” to the Doc for finishing off the giant before it could get another swing at him.

“Now what?”

OOC: are we pursuing the bugbears?

@TaranTheWanderer

I think we should probably mop them up!

@FitzTheRuke do you want to confirm that we are free to move about the cabin and advance on them?

Everyone else- just a reminder that while we are rushing about, at some point in the future a short rest would be nifty. I know, we are in the middle of gettin' our attack on, but not all of us are long resters!

Down went the giant with a loud thump. Smoke whisped from the barrels of Doc's pistols, and one could swear that they saw a face in there, twisted in anguish.

OOC: Yes, you are free to move about. The last few bugbears are through the double doors to the south, unless you want to go through the barracks. There are, however, prisoners in the cells that could be rescued.[/b]

The Barbarian Druid watched the giant hit the ground hard, its blubber undulating like a bog. He grimaced when he saw the dead apes, but did not pause, there were more immediate concerns to attend to.

"secure the doors!" he offered as he looked around at the company "there are ogrelings in the halls south but we need to rest and heal"

For his part he headed pass the dead bulk towards the northern doors, checking that there was noone else hidden within or sneaking down the stairs from above...

OOC: Closing open doors, searching the north room, offering a cure wounds to anyone who needs it.

Donnell stows his shield and draws his bow and he pads softly in the direction of the enemies.

“Maybe we can convince them to surrender and then we can lock them up.”

The Colonel is about to accept Kahru's offer of healing, before remembering that he can heal himself. A quick prayer to the clouds above, and he feels ennervated, and ready to continue.

He follows Donnell. "Every prisoner is freed. Only then do we leave."

OOC: Healing word: 1d4+5=9 hp recovered. Spells left: 1/1/3/2/2

Kahru went about shutting doors while the others discussed further plans. When he arrived at the door to the north, from whence the misshapen giant had emerged, he saw an office and bedchamber. Near the giant-sized desk, he saw a ring of keys hanging from a peg on the wall, about twelve feet above the ground. The keys were sized to be small but comfortable in the hands of a giant, and the ring was heavy iron. There must have been at least a dozen, or more, keys on the ring.

"We have keys!" Kahru grinned delightedly as he turned back and reported his find to the others "Gimlak, they are hung high on the wall - we need a flyer to grab them."

The other option was to move the desk and use that to reach higher, but Kahru surmised he'd need help with that too, so either way the dwarfs aid would be welcome.

May as well check if there was anything else on or in the desk while he was at it

OOC: Do we want to wait 10 minutes for 14 thp from inspiring leader?

Yep, I think this would be a good point to take a rest
