The Colonel looks at Doc pulling the brm down over his eyes, and he figures he's spent. "We can hole up here," he says, looking at how defensible the Keeper's quarters might be. They've come in quick, and spending an hour in this basement isn't what the Colonel wants. But he is aware that he needs the team with hi, and opening the cells might lead to some unuexpected complications.

"When you're ready, we'll open the cells." (working our way form the keeper's office anticlockwise).

Waythe was disappointed that there were no apparent enemies in the cells, no immediate threat for the sword and its weilder to slay. Kahru looked back to see that many of the others were taking the time to rest, including, it seemed, the Colonel.

Finding himself at the end of the cellblock corridor, the Northman went up to a door and called to the prisoners within "if you seek freedom identify yourselfs, why are you here?"

"I am Tamanar Ez'Kailion, a Knight of Aluesia." came a voice from the south-west corner of the cellblock, answering Kahru, "I am here because I was captured by Hill Giants while defending my Princes' palanquin. This was many months ago, and while there were six of us who were captured, I am all that remains. There were dwarves in the cells closer to where you are, but they were ransomed, I believe."

Kahru's conversation was cut short by the sound of the knock at the southern door, which the Colonel answered. It was one of the two Stone Giants who were overseers for the excavation (not to be confused with the Stone Giant Prince, and his aide, who had negotiated for the release of the dwarves). This giant said, struggling with the common tongue, "I be Haptka, second dig-chief. I parlay."

He then switched to the giant tongue, with the grinding sounds of the Stone Dialect, :: Do any of you speak the Great Speech? I cannot form proper words in your small-speak, though I do not wish to offend. ::

Gimlak approaches. When about 15 feet of the giant, he says in giant: “I am Gimlak Silverbeard, Son of Torbin, King of the Mountains. We dwarves have always had open discussions with your people, and I welcome this parlay. Please speak your mind, Haptka

The giant continued, with Gimlak translating for the others, :: Ah. You have my gratitude. As I think you know, myself and my wife are tasked with overseeing the excavation of the old temple - you took the dwarves we had as part of our labor force. We did not object. We understand that you are avenging Chief Nosnra's raids on your people. But we are not all responsible for these raids. ::

Great job! Think we should stay on the good side of the Stone Giants, and try to understand more of what's going on.

@Kobold Stew do you want to free Tamanar Ez'Kailion?

Doc is resting until the hour is up, but ready to go if we need to.
