(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 2

[Tonguez]

"I am Tamanar Ez'Kailion, a Knight of Aluesia." came a voice from the south-west corner of the cellblock, answering Kahru, "I am here because I was captured by Hill Giants while defending my Princes' palanquin. This was many months ago, and while there were six of us who were captured, I am all that remains. There were dwarves in the cells closer to where you are, but they were ransomed, I believe."

"The dwarves are safe" Kahru explained after the voice in the south-west corner answered him "we have come back to release you too. The Hill Giant King is dead but there are still others in this place that we need to deal with, have patience, I will fetch the key"

As he made his way back to the main hall the Northman was careful to return the disappointed Waythe to her sheath, it would not do to disturb the parlay going on...

As Kahru passed by more cells along the southern wall, voiced called to him from there as well, "I heard you speak to the elf. There's more of us here, too."

Another voice, high-pitched but quiet, said, "Are ye sure there's no mean giants around? I'd hate t'get me head bashed, just as I'm getting free!"

OOC: I'm a little lost as to what's going on so I'll stay clear of the conversation, but Donnell is proficient in Persuasion, if you need him to step in at all.

OOC: I'm a little lost as to what's going on

OOC: If it's because of there being two things going on around the same time - A Stone Giant has come up from the south to Parlay with Gimlak & the Colonel. But also Kahru was talking to prisoners through the cell doors. If it's because you missed all the previous stuff, yeah... it's a bit much to explain. They had a temporary alliance with some Stone Giants (not these, but these know about it).

"Hold, I will fetch the key" Kahru repeated loud enough for the other inmates to hear, but stoically he continued exiting the cell block. Seeing Donnel with his bundle of salvaged weapons the Druid-Barbarian went over and stood at the Squires side.

"I suggest you rest and wait" he said quietly to the young man "There are many prisoners in the cells, they will need attending soon, but first this parlay. The Steinjotun have proven true to their word so far, I trust that the dwarf and the colonel will handle things."

OOC: @Tonguez Great job! Think we should stay on the good side of the Stone Giants, and try to understand more of what's going on. @Kobold Stew do you want to free Tamanar Ez'Kailion? Doc is resting until the hour is up, but ready to go if we need to.

OOC: Yes to all. Sorry I'm lagging -- I'm travelling now and time zones are out. Back next week. The Colonel will stay with the Parlay, but yes, we want everyone freed.

The Colonel stands with Kahru. He does not speak Giant* and so listens as Gimlak negotiates.

He will remain respectful and at attention. If he is given a nod from Gimlak, he will say the following:

"We intend you and your work no disrespect, and we recognize the impact this has had on your workforce. Nevertheless, these prisoners and those enslaved in the Hall of the Hill Giant are to be freed. We have no conflict with you, and would prefer to stay that way. Your people have a reputation for independence and honest dealing. But this steading is under attack by other forces, and we seek only to rescue those captive."

OOC: * weird -- I thought he did. but it's not on his sheet. The Colonel is ready to cast Banishment if there is any hostility.

The giant mused, ::I had thought that you had agreed with Laerthar to allow us to complete our work. Our work has been without stop, and we are little informed as to what is occurring above us, but I have heard that Smolderheart has invoked the Ordning to wrest control of the Steading from Prince Laerthar. I presume that this must be true. As you made no peace with Smolderheart, hostilities have resumed. Is this correct?::

"Our fight is not with Smolderheart, though our purposes are presently at odds. A battle rages above us. We would take the prisoners, both those imprisoned here and those enslaved.I hope this is acceptable. There has been too much killing today."

Gilmlak translates when necessary, and adds: “We also respectfully request that you inform us what you are digging for.”
