The giant was no politician, but he did not want to cause strife between the Dwarves and the Stone Giants, who shared a range of mountains in a relationship that was often turbulent, but had been peaceful for decades. He gave Gimlak as many details as he could, that as well as a few smaller magic-items, they had found a polished purple stone with black veins running through its egg-shaped form. It had made them uneasy, and they'd wrapped it in furs and sent it with the others back to the Castellan of Howling Craig, a Giantess named Balestraya.
::If you wish to observe it, I am sure that you may petition Thane Arnak for an audience at Howling Craig.::
There seemed to be no deception - the giants did not have a specific thing that they were digging for, so much as they sought any artefact that they could find from the discovery of the old Temple under the Steading.
While Gimlak spoke, Kahru and Tamanar opened the other cells. One held an old human merchant, another two of his caravan guards. One held a halfling woman, and one a human laborer. When they came to the second-to-last cell, a voice inside said, "Hurry! Free me. I have been here so long."
But the keychain did not seem to have the key, and none of the prisoners had ever met the occupant of that cell.
