While the smell causes him to gag, Donnell only hesitates for a brief second before he moves to unbind the orcs. In their current state, they are no threat and he can't bear to watch them suffer.

With trepidation, he opens the iron maiden

While Donnell works, the Colonel moves to a point position on the east sie of the room. He sees the open doors, an while he doesn't peer inside, he does look down the corridor to the south, an he listens.

Kahru followed the Colonel, scanning the room and grimacing, he did not approve of torture, an enemy should be killed with dignity not left to linger.

He saw that Gimlak and Donnell where releasing the orcs and so he made his way down pass the spit roasted corpse so he could be able to cover both sets of the doors lest the torturers return

OOC: looking at the CJ line one square back from the south wall

Doc watches with his usual laconic-like indifference to the hustlings and bustlings of the others. He don't much cotton to the feelin' of the uglies gettin' what for, but he also didn't much care for needless sufferin'. There'll be more than enough needful sufferin' when they pass on and meet the Sheriff, I reckon, so no need for it now.

When Gimlak whispered 'bout freein' 'em, Doc felt no opposition in his bones.

He watched with careful eyes as the Yung 'un pried open the calamitous contraption, and Hoss and the Swordwhisperer moved into some defensible positions. Wonder if that sword is his sheriff? Wonder what his sheriff is demandin' of him?

Putting aside his thoughts, Doc moves to a position to ensure a clean line of sight near Hoss, while keeping a wary eye on the Yung 'un.

OOC:
Going to use a dash to increase movement if needed. Move to CJ row or CL row (not directly behind Hoss, but diagonal). One square behind (north of Colonel). Shooting angle to south, to Iron maiden, and to closed double doors.

Gimlak and Donnell began to free the tortured, beginning with the ones furthest in (in case of a retreat). While Gimak broke the chains that bound an orc to the wall, Donnell opened the iron maiden, taking a long breath as he did so. Sure enough, crammed inside was a dwarf, alive, but punctured and malnourished. This was probably the Dwarf known as Harmock, who the other dwarves had declared had been missing for some time.

The orc, when released from the wall, seemed like he would lash out at Gimlak, if only he had the strength. But he did not. In fact, he did not have the strength to stand, and instead was reduced to clinging to the dwarf's beard as he sank to his knees.

Kahru, Doc, and the Colonel surveyed the hallway to the south, and they could hear the sound of rummaging from through the open doors. The giant torturers were grabbing their belongings, perhaps aware of the death of the Keeper, and deciding to abandon their victims, and maybe even the Steading itself.

OOC: I think I can assume that you'll probably attack these jerks.
