D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

Dellrak draws another arrow from the quiver over his shoulder and takes a deep breath. Something strange tingles in his fingers as he nocks the arrow to the string. He blinks as his focus dulls and then he can feel the presence of the beast inside his head for a moment, a connection he can't explain, but it flows through to his hands and he lets the arrow fly.

"Ro'do dar drak!" he roars his battle cry.

The shaft turns into a pale blue bolt as it flies towards the creature, and when it strikes there is an audible *thump* from the impact.

Imogen, Chrysagon, & Dellrak

Zombie Dinosaur

Imogen fired an arrow from afar while Chrysagon rushed forward with his flail. Both began to wonder if the creature could be hurt *at all* as their attacks seemed ineffectual, but then Dellrak's arrow thumped into its armoured hide with a nice solid blow. The creature did not seem to notice, however, and it swung its tail around, Harb was ready and rolled to the side, but the tail was aimed at Chrysagon, and it swung at him hard. Chrysagon's spinning flail created a protective field, and the heavy club-end of the creature's tail deflected with a loud bang.

Chrysagon's charge took Rodrigo slightly by surprised - he expected some fancy maneuver. But then again, some foes were too dumb to be outwitted... inspired by Dellrak, Rodrigo held his blade high and charged.

Before he could reach the foul beast it already had hit his companion - hard. Better distract the thing and flank - and leave the field of fire open for his allies.

"Over here you foul oaf!" He shouted as he ran past, only to abruptly stop himself and deliver a slashing blow.

A third arrow for luck, her father had said that one time he had taken her hunting. That was the summer before she had been left at the school, when Miss Imogen was still a young girl and not nearly the huntswoman she was now.

That she thought she was now.

She pulls back the bow string, levels the shot to release the third flight, and releases.

OOC: Attack (sharpshooter): [roll0] to hit; damage [roll1] piercing if a hit.
Move: keep her distance, moving up to 30 to stay away.

Rodrigo, Harb, Qawasha & Weed

Rodrigo and Harb circled the creature. Rodrigo slashed at it, trying to goad it into swinging its heavy tail at him. Its dull, dead-looking 'good' eye showed no sign of any intelligence as its beak-like snout made absent chewing motions. Harb smacked its hind leg in a vulnerable joint and then kicked the same spot for good measure.

Qawasha flung another little ball of fire up the creature's back while a stone came flying out of the forest from somewhere around where Weed had last been spotted. The stone cracked off of the creature's head, leaving split skin which oozed.

GM: I'll have to use that Imogen turn for next round. I hadn't rolled the round over, though I should have. I'd forgotten it was ready to go.

Dellrak was slightly surprised at the results of his attack. What was happening to the dwarf, and why did it feel "right" somehow. Shaking the fog from his head, he drew another arrow.

The tingling returned to his fingers. The sense of the great undead beast filled him again and seemed to link him with the creature. He fired the arrow and watched as the shaft turned a pale blue once more, and striked the side of the beast.

*thump*

Miss Imogen & Dellrak

Zombie Dinosaur

Miss Imogen fired a third arrow at the armoured undead, and her arrow skipped harmlessly off like the first two had done. She watched as Dellrak's arrow struck home, burying itself in the hide with a solid thump. What was he doing that she wasn't? There was some sort of energy on the arrow, she could see it plainly.

The creature swung its heavy mace-like tail over its back and toward Rodrigo...
