Dandin thought about it for a moment and then smiled. "Actually, I might be able to do something about the worg, assuming nobody attacks it. Not sure if it'll work though."

OOC: Still have 3 uses of Animal Friendship available from the elk

Legend
Returning to the workhouse's basement (and the Julkoun cellars), the Daggerfordians found the elves in something of a stalemate with a grizzled old Worg. They had moved into the warehouse space, reporting: "There are several goblins down the cellar tunnel, but they are backed up by a Wizard. We were forced to move up the stairs to avoid being targeted by spells."

The now-freed Julkounians informed them, "They have more of us imprisoned in the old mill-house in the lower city, near the river. Please save them!"

They were in a tight spot. It would be very difficult and time-consuming to try to haul thirty weavers up the side of the moat over the covered bridge. In addition, they were currently leading them toward a battle that may involve a wizard. Unfortunately, the alternative was above ground, and up there, they could hear the sound of an alarm horn that would most probably awake whatever goblinoids were still inattentive or asleep in the town. What to do?

Round 0

Angis wiped blood from his eyes and readied his axes in case the worg wasn’t going to fall for Dandin’s spell. A wizard. That was going to make getting out even tougher. But going topside wasn’t a better option. At least down here they could deal with them in more narrow confines. He took a moment to cast a spell to heal himself a bit.

Wizard spotted. Priority One: Directive 66 - Evaluate, Evolve, Eliminate. All other priorities rescinded.

Enseth cuts and throws more leaders heads down the corridor to make the goblins reconsider their allegiance.

Legend
The old worg snarled at Dandin as the halfling approached him, arms outstretched. "Not a dog!" it said in rough, growly, thickly-accented common.

OOC: I honestly thought that might work too. Then I looked up Animal Friendship and the Worg. AF only effects Beasts of Int 4 or less. Worgs have Int 7, and can TALK. Who knew?

GM: I will be back ASAP with a combat announcement. This may be hard, the party is pretty beat up.

Legend
The Julkounians gasped at the sight of the grizzled Worg and huddled in a mass about the stairs.

The Hobgoblin Chef, who had been itching to get into a fight with elves for some time, but also did not like the idea of becoming a pin-cushion, took the opportunity that the large Worg gave him as cover from arrow-fire, to rush forward yelling, "I'm gonna serve elf-meat for suppa!"

He waved his goblin staff to follow him, and they did, but reluctantly. At this time Enseth had finished gathering two of the hobgoblin captain's heads from the corpse-pile (but had yet to throw them down the cellar stairs). In fact, the large body of the Worg was blocking the cellars and it had taken a bite out of Tarthegal, who had switched from his bow to his swords and was holding it back at the top of the stairs, with Averiel assisting him from the side.
