Vairar moves behind Lunn and, letting the young newcomer pass, stabs at the attacking gnoll. The pike head, already rumbling with potent magic of the elves explodes the heart of the creature with a dull thump. He pulls the corpse aside freeing his pike for the next attacker.

Move to within 10' of the gnoll
Attack:Attack vs gnoll; damage; booming damage: 1d20+6 = [12]+6 = 18
1d10+3+1d8=[10+3+[6] = 19
2d8 = [8,5] = 13
- of course you get huge damage when the thing is on its last legs :)

OOC: 18 damage, kill

Tommi is about to attack, but thwre are no visible enemies, and a crowd on the stairs now. He looks at the gnoll collapsed in a heap at his feet and sighs.

Legend
The gnoll chasing the doctor fell dead on the stairs to Vairar's pike-thrusts and Escella's bolts.

Lionel asked, somewhat nervously while loading his crossbow, "So, are we going up?Big guys like Lunn and Vairar first, right?"

OOC: There's not much for the others to do ATM, so I'm going to roll the round. If you haven't actually done a turn, feel free to use extra movement or whatever on your next turn to make it "feel" right.

Not wanting to get in the way of anyone or in the way of an angry gnoll, Dr. Wells move back away from the stairs and prepares to conjure a spectral hand if the Flind decides to make its way down the stairs.

"There are two left up there but one is trapped in a conjured web - at least for now!"
Readied action:
Chill touch as a reaction if FLind moves downstairs into range:
Attack: 1D20+7 = [10]+7 = 17
Damage: 2D8 = [1, 6] = 7
Morgan moves to AA37

@FitzTheRuke
WEB: A creature Restrained by the webs can use its Action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC 15. If it succeeds, it is no longer Restrained. The webs are Difficult Terrain and lightly obscure their area.

Neurotic

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
OOC: AC 18 with the shield

"Good to hear!" roars Lunn as he charges up the staircase. Spotting the fling, he roars a challenge and throws his axes in a quick succession at the waiting gnoll-thing followed surprisingly by a bolt of light from his heart.

First one bounces off it's shoulders, but it served to gauge the angle and the next one impacts solidly in that same shoulder.

He pulls the battle axe at the top of the stairs and awaits the creature.

Move: CB37 (assuming difficult terrain for going up)
Bonus: Rage neurotic: D8#lunnrage → 8(8)#Lunn rage
A bolt of light shoots from your chest. Another creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d6 radiant damage and be blinded until the start of your next turn. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again on each of your turns as a bonus action.
- CON save DC 15
Action: neurotic: repeat2 D20 + 5;D6 + 3 + 2 → 15; 10; 17; 8(10 + 5);(5 + 3 + 2);(12 + 5);(3 + 3 + 2)
So, throw 1st axe: hits 15 for 10 - MISS
throw 2nd axe: hits 17 for 8 - HIT

Legend
The feral-looking shaggy gnoll that Lunn found at the top of the stairs howled and started spinning a three-headed flail. It charged at him as he pulled his battle-axe. Lunn was shocked by the ferocity of the assault and was only able to block one of the flail's three heads as the other two struck him about the shoulders.

His vision blurred and he wondered what sort of poison or magic was channeled into the flail as his shoulders went numb and at the same time, shockingly painful.

Able to see the two of them at the top of the stairs, Morgan sent a burst of frost up the stairs, but most of it caught the railing. He couldn't see it, but by its frustrated howls, he assumed that his web was still holding the other gnoll. There was no sign that Thegger had yet attempted to leave his room.

OOC: Lunn did 8 to the "Flind" (it's not really a flind, but close enough) who did 21 back. Lunn must roll a dc14 WIS save (I'll say what the save means later, beyond what I wrote above). Morgan's 17 will miss the flind (cover from the railing) but the gnoll in the web is good and stuck.
