I'm just curious to see what folks who intend to switch to 4ed are currently playing.

Since I can't include every game, I've just given the main d&d options. If you play another game and are switching, please just choose one of the 'other' options and let us know what you're switching from. I've also made this a multi-poll, since you may be playing in more than one game.

Also, please note this is neither a pro nor anti 4ed thread. I just thought it may (or may not) be of interest - as such there is no 'I'm not switching' option (as it's not relevant to the point of discussion).

We have 5 members in our "core" group, each with his own campaign.
One campaign is just switching to Pathfinder.
One campaign already is Pathfinder.
One is currently Das Schwarze Auge.
One is using 3.5.
Mine is using Iron Heroes.

The campaigns will continue, and it is unlikely they will convert, since it is too much work. We're switching campaigns to Pathfinder since 3.5 has already gotten a little stale, and before we make a final move to 4E, we want to enjoy the Paizo adventure paths and their rule tweaks for some freshness.

But my campaign will go 4E. I'll start the actual campaign with Keep on the Shadowfell, and if WotC release schedule and DDI can keep up with me, I might actually not homebrew as much as I used to.
But I am more then happy to get all the adventure supplements from both sources to my fellow players so they can run 4E games for me. ;)

Our group is pretty enthusiastic on the new edition, but we enjoy the Pathfinder modules and the old Paizo modules a lot (except maybe Age of Worms, but that might also be the DM's fault), too.

When I say switching, right now I mean switching *part* of my gaming energies to 4E. I'm not stopping my 3.5 games, but I will be starting a 4E game online in a couple of weeks.

So basically 3.5-4E for me.

We aren't 'switching' systems. Rather adding 4e to the rotation. We will be playing 4e, 3.5, Shadowrun 2ed and the occasional d20 modern. (At least for the remainder of this year, in 2009... who knows?)

Some good points made above about the use of the term 'switching'. So, to add, if you're intending to play 4ed but not actually giving up the games you're currently playing, just tick the option for the game(s) you're playing and add a post to explain that. If you're taking up 4ed and are not currently playing anything, just tick the other non-ogl option and again explain.

I'd edit the poll, but don't seem to be able to. Anyway, it's not a scientific enquiry, just a poll born out of curiosity (and a desire to avoid doing any work)!

You might want to edit just the original post with this information, on the off-chance that some people will read it and see that the post doesn't force them to not vote at all, because they are simply not switching.

In essence, my group is not switching in the strictest sense - we're still playing the Paizo-stuff for a while (and this might take a year or so?), and we also play other games besides D&D.

I'm switching from 3.5. I'm also (unless 4th edition turns out to s*ck bolwingballs through gardenhoses) completely switching to 4th edition. Somehow, 3.5 just didn't hold my attention for the rules and all the class variants anymore.

I tried injecting some life into my campaign by buying Ptolus, but that didn't help.

(Hmmm... Running Ptolus on 4th edition... Now there's a conversion challenge :) )

Group play is Hero.
D&D 4th will be solo with me and the wife. We did the same for D&D 3.x for a while - I played a couple of characters to epic levels, and another couple to mid teens.

I'm switching from Star Wars SAGA edition. My campaign for that ends tonight. It's been a fun ride with a great system. We did a full on epic campaign with a complete story. I'm anxious to start 4e but I'm glad we were able to get the entire story complete. :D
