Maighan paused and tilted her head slightly to listen to J'hanna's proposition. When she was done, the druid turned around and looked at her thoughtfully.

So, this was this woman's home, was it? She would know her way around it then...and perhaps could give her advice on who to approach and how best to approach them. And truth be told, there wasn't much silver in Maighan's purse. It was of little concern to her, since she could easily live outside the city for as long as necessary, but there were situations where having coin would be useful.

There was no rush, after all. Why not begin her time here by helping a local with her problems, and earning some goodwill? It would pay handsomely in the longer run.

"Very well," Maighan said.

J'hanna does manage to find some locals to help with transporting the old man's remains back home. They are happy to see her safe return, and even more happy to see that she's brought help.

"The farmland's almost gone completely, taken over by that wild growth... vines just creeping out of nowhere and choking everything out, then drying it up just as fast," one of them says. "Anyway, we'll get the casket and your gear loaded up and secure. It'll be dark in a couple of hours, so we won't head out until the morning. Take care of any business you have here, if you have any, and then meet us back here at first light."

OOC: Thanks again for your patience. From here we can assume you've all found a place to rest and fast-forward to morning, or you can take some time to explore Silverport and see what the Bazaar has to offer.

Garrison is awake early. He doesn't always do well in crowds: there's usually someone, almost always human, who has never seen one of his kind before. And Garrison is not interested in needless conflict. He can wrap a scarf around his mouth and raise the hood on his cloak. That has some effect, but it's not always effective.

For a moment he considers returning to the sea, where he is more easily judged on his abilities than on his appearance. But no. He was going to try this. J'hanna had invited him to accompany her to her village. And so he would do so.

Justice spends the evening drinking, starting out with his promised toast to the late Captain Jon, then proceeds to get drunk late into the night. Unfortunately, he's not a happy drunk. Wallowing in his misery, anyone nearby ends up hearing the basics of his sad tale: How he lost his wife Nira and their children Jolan and Jenelle to a pirate attack on the high seas. And how he was stranded on a deserted island for months or years before finally escaping. For this one night, he grieves without thought of the vengeance he has sworn to bring to the villains who caused his misery. The thoughts of vengeance come the next morning as the group is getting ready to leave on their journey. Squinting at the unnaturally bright sun, and holding his head in his hands to keep it from splitting in half from the pain, Justice dons his armor, throws up in a bucket, and makes his way to the street on unsteady legs.
[sblock=OOC]I'm assuming he's hung over enough to be considered Poisoned, at least for a few hours. So, disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.[/sblock]

Nissa, still feeling a bit lost, finds herself sitting with Justice most of the night, listening to his tale with sympathy, though she doesn't share in the drinking.

Garrison quickly realizes that Silverport is a veritable melting-pot of races, some of which even he has never encountered before, and make his orcish heritage seem tame by comparison. It seems that as long as the coin is flowing, pretty much anything will be tolerated here.

It is a human, however, who's booming voice rings out through the morning air. "You there! Hey you, you sniveling thief!" Nissa recognizes the man instantly as he approaches Justice. "It was an interesting tale ye told last night, but it wasn't good enough to get you outta yer tab. I know you'll be squarin' up before you think about leavin'!" The innkeeper holds out his thick hand, waggling his sausage-like fingers.

OOC: Come on! A paladin with a drinking problem is just too good not to play with.

OOC: Ah, ok. Sorry about that, got lost for a second.

Nissa interposes herself between the innkeeper and the recovering Justice, "I saw him pay you last night. He's miserable enough, he doesn't need greedy swine like you extorting him when he's vulnerable."

She pulls a gold piece out of her pouch, "Take this and let us be on our way."
