Turning at the deafening sound of the innkeepers shouting voice, Justice scowls at the man through narrowed eyes while trying to remember whether or not he had paid for his drinks the night before. 'Surely the barkeeper wouldn't have let him keep drinking that much without payment though, right? Exactly. Which means this man is a cheat and a scoundrel.' An unpleasant smile creeps over the Paladin's face as he walks toward the innkeeper, passing by the offered coin Nissa is holding out towards the man. Moving right up to the man he bumps his armored chest against the man's large belly and proceeds to speak in a low whisper only the man can hear. As their noses nearly touch and Justice's foul breath accompanies his threats... "Extortion. Extortion is a crime. Do you know what I do to criminals?" He opened his mouth to say more, but bumping bellies with the man turns out to not have been a smart tactic. Justice's own stomach bubbles and heaves before it lets go again and Justice throws up all over the mans shirt and apron before stumbling to the side where he leans forward with his hands on his knees till he recovers.

The man looks as he may join Justice in the heaving, but quickly regains his composure. "Careful who yer accusin' of bein' a criminal boy!" the barkeep says. Clearly Justice has struck a nerve. "Only one I see around here is you, walkin' out on a tab I held ye good for 'cause o' that symbol yer wearin'! And you!" he looks toward Nissa. "I seen many o' men drag good folks down with their troubles. You'll do better than climbin' in with his lot." He snatches the coin from her hand and turns back to the paladin. "This'll cover your debt with me son, but now yer owin' her. Think about that." The man turns and stomps off, shaking the lumps off of his apron.

Maighan watches the entire scene in a state of utter mystification. The vomit though, that's something she can understand. A thing of a body in distress. That she knows.

She comes forward, her waterskin in hand, to Justice's side and presses the cool leather into his hands.

"Drink," she urges. "Just a little. Swish it in your mouth and spit. Then you can try swallowing some if you feel better."

The elf looks at Nissa anxiously. "Is everything all right here?"

Nissa clenches and unclenches her fists slowly, her skin tinged with an odd shade of bluish green. One might mistake it for a bit of nausea, but she doesn't seem to have any other symptoms. She mutters, "Fine. Let's just not go anywhere near that tavern again."

She bends down to Justice, putting what she hopes is a comforting hand on his back, "You don't owe me anything...except a bath." She holds her nose for emphasis.

Aedon watches the scene in disgust. He just doesn't understand why people drink to excess. Perhaps they try to forget their woes but can't they see its only temporary?

Aedons interests NOT obsession with his studies don't allow him such luxury. I so CLOSE to a breakthrough. Even that horrible ship is worth that.

Aedons brilliant mind is how curse. His need to find a way to prove him self different from his lineage is unequivocal but, of course, who else could he trust to help?

Nissa, now she could be trusted but she just wouldn't face her demons. What was a man to do.

Walking on to the scene he remarks, "Good morn folks. Are we ready to hear out?"

Garrison stands awkwardly, his duffel at his feet, his hands in his pockets. If he were much smaller, he'd resemble a child about to had off for camp. He has been embarrassed by the conversation with the paladin. Not the drunkenness; we all have weaknesses after all. But not paying your tab and then getting caught? That suggests a lack of reliability.

Glaring hard at the ground below him, Justice wondered if he could really have been at fault. Had they really let him run up a tab because of his holy symbol, only to have him be too drunk to remember to pay?! If that was true, then he was indeed the criminal except for the kindness of his companion paying off his debt. Now he owed her back. She wouldn't accept his money of course. But he would pay his debt back in some other way... and he would punish himself appropriately later for this lapse in judgment. He should have known better than to start drinking like that.

Finally standing upright, Justice kept his head low both to avoid the sunlight and to keep from meeting the stares of his other companions. He didn't want to see their opinions reflected in their eyes right now. Hitching up his gear on his back, he silently makes ready to start walking with the rest.

Nissa stays by Justice's side. In an odd way, she felt more comfortable around him now, more so than the others at least, because she felt like he needed her...and he had his own inner demons, which she could relate to.

J'Hanna was the last of the group to arrive for the morning meet-up. She had been up very late, though in perhaps a more sedate fashion than some- there were, after all, plenty of people here in Silverport who traded with the farming villages, and had rumors fresh from the fields. In fact, with the blight expanding, many former farmers had been forced to move into the city, to find some way to survive- and while they didn't have rumors, they had the same meals, the same songs, the same stories that she had grown up with. She was, at least in some manner, HOME.

J'hanna arrives late, but fully armored and ready to travel. And she is smiling,,,

The emissaries from J’hanna’s village arrive only moments after the innkeeper’s abrupt exit, thankfully sparing Justice and further indignities (we hope). The casket is in a sturdy looking carriage drawn by a team of two equally sturdy looking horses. Andert and Redis greet you warmly.
“There’s room to ride, or you can walk beside. It’ll be slow moving, and even slower the farther we get out of Silverport. Should take about three days travel, so make sure you’re equipped. If you need any supplies, now is the time. We’ll meet back here in an hour.”

OOC: Take this opportunity to decide if you’re walking or riding with the casket. Also, if you need some supplies and can afford it, buy them now. No need to RP the transactions unless you just want to. My intent is to get this train moving tomorrow.
