Knocking unconscious until end of encounter?

My group is playing against drow right now, and the poison description says:

A creature hit by a weapon coated in drow poison takes a –2
penalty to attack rolls (save ends). First Failed Save: The target is
also weakened (save ends). Second Failed Save: The target falls
unconscious until the end of the encounter.

We were wondering if there is a way to undo the unconsciousness as a heal check or what not. Seems a little crazy if you are pretty much knocked out of the combat with no way back.

It's pretty powerful stuff.

I can't think of anything off of the top of my head or with a quick flip through the PH.

Let us know what you decide? This is why powers that allow free saves are so useful.

Is there an anti-venom or some such in AV?

Yep, it's powerful. If someone fails their first save, it's time to start the heal checks for +2.

There are constant items and consumables that help against poison directly, or indirectly by giving you save bonuses against being weakened. Depending on how you interpret it, an amulet of physical resolve gives +2 or +4.

Actually, these can be very dangerous against abilities like these, because every extra failed save brings you closer to unconsciousness. A couple of Sacred Flames by your allies and you could unconscious in a single round.

Hmm.

When I DM, I rule that "extra" saves granted from powers and items don't count as failed saves for the purpose of things that count as failed saves. I've always assumed this was a houserule, but was never sure. Apparantly so. Does anyone else rule like this?

Later!

It's a houserule, but its quite reasonable. Its kinda weird to have a buddy petrified or desitegrated faster, because you tried to help him. Also, races like hobgoblins that get free saves logically should be more resistant to such effects, not taken down by them quicker.
