Trailer Lanterns | Official Teaser | HBO Max

Not really. Cap 1 was boring as hell. Great scenery and evoking the mood, but boring as hell. Thor 1: Thor completely changes his personality for no reason, evolving from Iron Age Brute to sensitive modern guy Literally overnight, with no motivation whatsoever. The Asguard reliance on horses makes no sense. And the really horrid and tedious "Magic is just super-advanced science" argument.
Hawkeye's name being mentioned without bothering to actually use him was just dumb.

Yeah, sorry, elaborating on those takes doesn't cool them down any.

I'll agree (ish) that Thor 1 was not a good movie. It was passable super hero action nonsense. But of course Asgardians use horses and their space ships are literal Viking long ships. That makes perfect (super hero universe) sense.

But Cap 1 was a rather nice character study and a love letter to the original material. Yes, it was a series of vignettes rather than a single story, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Neither of them detracted from Avengers. In fact both of them contributed by giving the Thor, Cap, and Loki extra screen time to develop, if nothing else.

I noticed it, only because I thought it was unusual for an F-bomb to be in a trailer.
It didn’t bother me though, I thought it defined the character in a short handed manner, this is someone that’s a little rough around the edges, probably not very polite or social.

I’m looking forward to the show, HBO rarely let me down.

If that was Hal, this is a guy who got his start as a test pilot. I would put money on them swearing like a 101-year old sailor.

It was a good movie. It just wasn't using a formula and was in a different paradigm, which makes sense because of the director being Kenneth Branaugh. If they'd stuck with Matthew Vaughn, it would have probably had a different vibe, but this was more Shakespearean. In that lens, it was a good movie at least IMO.

Fair enough. I'm just not a big fan of Branaugh. I feel his style works well for something like Henry V. But he doesn't do humour at all well. And Thor, indeed super hero movies in general, need a little humour.
