Lost (09/28) spoilers

It could be that, my roommate said the same thing. The answer I have heard for that joke "Its ICE to meet you." I wasn't paying very close attention so it very well could be snowman and not sihloutte. (Sihloutte sounds more mysterious if you ask me.)
It was snowman.

This is how I heard it. Snowman.

And everyone keeps saying 108 hours, but I think it's 108 minutes. The numbers to the right ticked off like seconds so it was 2:38, 2:37, etc. It then reset to 108:00. Am I just not remembering it correctly? I'll have to see when I rewatch it.

I dunno. Does that mean Desmond has to wake up every 105 or so minutes to reset it? Doesn't seem likely but that might explain his behavior :) I wonder if the lab sterilizes itself if no-one resets it, assuming that of no one is around to reset it, then the disease has gotten inside and everyone is dead? Didn't seem from the French woman's account that it killed that quickly. Maybe next week we'll find out something.

That's untrue. They reveal new things about the characters or the island with every episode. It may not be moving fast enough for you but to say nothing is being revealed is false.

But there is little pay off. They reveal all these character things that just reinforce what the characters are doing in the present. But they don't reinforce the odd behavior. And this season the flashbacks really haven't been all that interesting or reveal anything really new. Basically each week is a 10 minute show with 30 minutes of filler and commercials.

While it may have been a 'filler' episode, and the conversation between Mike and Sawyer was inane - that episode was worth it just to see the symbol on the shark.

Why do you think that? After all they locked up Jin in Season One for beating up Michael. If she transgressed some "law" that the tail section set up, this could be her punishment. Besides, the Others appear to have more toys to use than boards with nails (like guns and explosives)
I guess my impression is that when the french woman talks about the others, she talks about them as if they have been there before the plane crash.

I think they could, if they have gone all lord of the flys and someone has become a leader/dictator, locking up the person that is causing the most problems. We do not know what they have been throught, they could be on the 'bad' side of the island.

Maybe my original post on this topic was unclear.

Do I think that there are other survivors from the tail section of the plane. Yes

Are they the others Rousseau keeps going on about I don't beleive so.

I think Jack's flashback in the first episode was both poignant and interesting. It gave more insight to Jack, added a little bit of eyebrow raising about Mr. Rutherford and introduced Desmond.

Mike's flashback not so much.
