"Let's do this thing," he says. "Toothy, Slim," he says, addressing Tsaaruk and Iago respectively, "I can get at the tender bits easier when I have someone running distraction from the other side, so if either of you is inclined to stick close, I wouldn't mind.

"Lightfoot, ..."
the southerner pauses a moment, wrestling, then finally sighs, apparently having given up on finding a nickname to which the sorceress won't object. "Lightfoot, Pirvinia, you two be careful. Don't be afraid to call for help. I never am."

"Samad, can you hold my hand, please? Then we can travel together, even though we will be invisible."


As soon as the elf takes her free hand she casts her own invisibility spell to disappear from sight as she follows Samad into the lair.

"Slim" nods at the Rhat'matanis' words. "I will work with you," he assures his comrade. "Just let me make...preparations."

As the sorceress disappears, Iago pulls a clay vial from his belt. He eyes it distrustfully for a moment, then closes his eyes, unstoppers it and downs it in a single fluid motion.

The change is dramatic. For a moment, the half-orc's veins run black against his green skin. He doubles over, grunting, and when he straightens, the quiet, intellectual alchemist is gone. In his place is a feral creature, red-eyed and smiling with a lunatic's craving for slaughter. He draws his blade and begins spreading a sickly-green jelly along it.

"We will cut a trail through the goblins," he promises the others, his voice low but laced with bloodlust. "The caves will echo with their screams."

Tsaaruk watches Iago as he prepares for the upcoming battle. At first curious and then suspicious as Iago transforms after drinking his concoction Tsaaruk comes to the conclusion that whatever it takes to survive is what we do. He himself places his faith in his god and allows his anger to overtake him in the momen, so what if Iago relies on his mixtures. The transformation certainly seems impressive. He gives the alchemist a nod of approval and and begins his mental preparation for the charge into the goblins den.

Samad took the sorceress' hand and muttered a few more prayers, before replying, "And the same to you, Friend Ru. Don't be too long..."
Wasting no time, they moved back towards the cave. He hoped that the goblins weren't yet expecting company...

Pirvinia disappears from sight, and she and Samad hurry into the mine with only a few faint footprints in the grass to mark their passing. The goblins remain engaged in their games and do not notice anything out of the ordinary.

Iago, Ru, and Tsaaruck move quickly toward the mouth of the cave, keeping out of direct line of sight of the sentry.

Combat Map

[sblock=OOC]Surprise round, party is up. A move action for Ru or Iago can put them in the 3 westernmost squares of the passage. With barbarian speed, Tsaaruck can move into the first 5 (so the Grunt 1 is charge-able for him).

Grey squares are difficult terrain: tables, beds, or slop-buckets for the most part.

I haven't rolled for initiative yet, but I'll be doing all of the goblins individually for the first round. However, they all have penalties due to not paying attention so it's unlikely that more than 2-3 will get to act.

Sticking with their plan, Pirvinia squeezed Samad’s hand with some extra pressure to signal him as she continued to move deeper into the lair. She wanted to be in a position to see the goblin leadership and know what they were doing as the incoming attack was made to the lair.

[sblock=Actions/OOC]I am not sure how many rounds Ru/Iago/Tsu are waiting before triggering the combat, so I posted a couple of rounds to cover both Samad and Pirvin getting fully into position before Pirvinia plans to wait until she hears the others attacking.

Moved at Half Speed (Take 10 on Stealth) deeper into the Caverns:
Updated Map 3x for both Pirvin and Samad 1st Round, 2nd Round, 3rd Round
