Massachusetts game day July... And a Good Time Was Had by All

I'd like in, please :D

I always seem to miss this sort of thing, but not this time!

Tell me, would this be a good event to bring a girlfriend too if she's been wanting to play, but doesn't have alot of experience? She likes cats, pugs, expectant mothers and bbq (we all like bbq).

~Qualidar~

Hey if she likes cats and pugs she can come and hang out even if she doesn't want to game! :D But yeah, my games tend to run the gamut of newbie friendly to non, and I imagine there'll be plenty to do either way.

Hmmm, I'm interested, but I'll have to check my schedule with the boss. I'm not sure if that is before or after her summer class ends - if it is before, I doubt she'll be happy with me leaving her with the kids for the day while she's studying for an exam or writing a final paper...
Bring the kids! ;) they can play with the pug and run around outside squealing....

And I would only be interested in playing a D&D game - haven't played any other systems in the 13 years since college ( ) so I'm not really up on anything else, and I'm not yet confident enough in my own DMing to try running a one shot for a bunch of people I've never met in person.

considering the venue this is starting in, I'm sure there'll be plenty of D&D. The games I will definitly run:

Missing Masters. run under 3.0 rules (because 3.5 destroyed half of the underlying basis :p ) its a pretty casual romp playing the familiars, special mounts and various fuzzy friends of an epic adventuring group gone missing. Much fun is usually had. "Holy cow, none of us have opposable thumbs!"

A Discworld Whodunnit. Run under GURPS rules, combat light to non existant, much pratchetty fun. Falimiarilty with GURPS is completely optional, but some knowlege of the Disc is good. Two of the characters are actually reserved for folks who have read specific books (Small Gods and Hogfather) so that I don't have to constantly give them hints of what they know.

Games I may run depending on time and interest:

A Plague in Pennace. D&D oneshot set in the Oathbound campaign setting. Track down the source of a magical plague ravaging your neighborhood, and survive the dangers of the world's oldest, biggest and deepest city to do it.

Bug Hunt with Soundtrack by Merle Travis. Mercanery space opera with a twist, under either HERO or Fudge ruleset.

Under Da Sea. A d20 aquatic adventure playtesting my underwater rules.

Amazons vs Slavers. D&D adventure with all female characters against the slave trading bad guys. Kinda like macho women with guns but without the guns or silly cup size mechanic, or, well, ok, probably not much like that at all. :p

Other ideas will proably occur. ;) Depending on interest, there may be a some saterday games worked in later.

OK, I checked in with the boss and I'm all set; class ends the week before. The kids are 4 years and 19 months so I find that if I bring them to games I don't actually have any chance to play - not to mention the four-year old has a big problem with strangers these days (Hi, this growth attached to my leg is my daughter). Anyway, it all sounds great and I'm excited to finally meet some other EN Worlders.

BTW, I read my own previous posting and I think I came off sounding a bit like a D&D snob. Sorry about that. I'd love to try other systems, but I don't want to mess up other peoples day dealing with a newbie.

I would definately love to be involved in this game day, or two. I live on Cape Cod, so Attleboro is not a far drive at all. I could be a player or DMer (DM for D20 D&D only 3 or 3.5)

I love "newbies." Don't sweat it, just play what sounds like the most fun.

I have to decide what to run. I'm thinking a Call of Cthulhu might be fun, maybe a Mutants & Masterminds or Spycraft or Spaceship Zero as well. KB, I probably just missed it, but what "time slots" do you want to do?

KB, I added "Massachusetts" into the title because a lot of folks don't know where Attleboro is. If you'd rather have it the previous way, feel free to edit it back!

Woo Hoo! Games beside D&D! Don't get me wrong, I love D&D, but no one here plays anything else, and I didn't even play D&D until I'd been role-playing for at least 6 years.

Beside, maybe this time I can play in one of Piratecat's games when I'm semi-concious. (I still feel bad about being so out of it last time.)

So you want to go up a day early and rent a room? Otherwise it's going to be another 3 hour drive at 6 am.

Missing Masters sounds like fun, but I'd probably be looking for Non-D&D games.

As for renting, guedo, it sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure about what things will look like in over a month.

I would love to play in any of those! And I could play a nice ferret as well, Kahuna Burger...or an owl...halfling paladin warsheep...werepoodle...the possibilities are endless. :]
