[MM2e] Salton City Needs Heroes! Episode 1: Premiere

Heritage Plaza, Cafe
The cashier smiled as her coworker walked over with a large tub that contains an unidentifiable mixture of white and brown ice cream that smells suspiciously like something that would cause a normal human's heart to explode from a caffeine overload and hyperglycemic shock.

"That'll be $6"

Heritage Plaza, South West (?) Corner
"Well, I'm actually here in Salton City for a T.V. show, but that's not really important right now. I'm here, here, because I heard about a threat against the mayor's ceremony. I wanted to help, you know, protect the people. But while I was out and about, taking a look around, somebody tried to shoot me. So I thought I'd best come out and try and explain, and see if we can't just all get along."

"Salton City's Police Department is well aware of that threat. We've just received reports that an unidentified group of super villains were planning on attacking City Hall, so if one of our officers had opened fire, I hope you understand the confusion. To elevate any further confusion, are you currently working with any other archons?"

The officer glanced to his partner in the squad car. "Report back to base."


Downtown, Several Blocks Away
Keiko watches as the police officer orders the to 'assume the position.' The officer's partner walked around to the back of the surveillance van and frowns. "We're going to have to get the a blowtorch to cut through this...." He glances up at Keiko's illusion. "I assumed you welded this door shut, can you possibly slice this door open so we can get the perps out?"

Down the street, on the opposite side of the road, Keiko notices a theater marquee. She instantly recognizes it as the same theater as the group's planned head quarters.

 

[hafrogman]

The Ten-Foot Pole rubs the back of his neck wearily. Does he really want to admit that he knows these people?

"Yeah, there's a few of us here for the show, you see. We all came in a pair of vans, they're parked over there. . ."

He gestures vaguely in the direction of the central plaza.

 

[Relique du Madde]

Heritage Plaza, South West Corner
The officer glances towards the plaza and presses the button on his radio. "This is officer Smith calling home. Over."

*This is home base. What is your report.*

"I'm with the archon that was spotted at the southern end of Heritage Plaza. He states that two of the vans that were spotted by parking lot A belongs to his group and that they are investigating an assassination plot against Captain Superior.."

*We recieved word of that plot from Officer Winchester.*

There is a loud gunshot. The officer quickly ducks behind the car and starts searching for the source. The Ten Foot Pole is able to tell that it's coming from the parking structure.


City Hall
One of City Hall's surviving glass doors shatters. Captain Superior stops in building's entrance and turns with a smirk.

"Looks like my enemies have already arrived. That only means I will be gone during their attack.... to bad you decided to let the Mayor leave."

 

[Shayuri]

Impatiently, Keiko steps 'into' her illusion and drops both it and her invisibility at the same time. There's a momentary flash of light as she vaporizes the two small spot-welds, then hauls the van door open telekinetically.

Then the gunshot.

She looks around, eyes widening.

"I have to go. The plot is against the Mayor and others as well, and it may already be beginning!"

With a surge of telekinetic strength flooding her legs, Keiko broke into a long, loping sprint, leapt over a car and kept right on going...back to the plaza.

She said into the headset, "The men in the van are caught. I'm coming back. Where did the shot come from?"

 

[Ginnel]

As Terrence sees the famous Superhero, his concentration drops/he subconciously reverts to his normal form (T-shirt and jeans)

"Hey Captain Superior!" says Terrence with a childlike eagerness, as he walks towards the muscled archon
"Theres a plot to kill you using some kind of weird bullets maybe, and a group of Villains has apparently threatened to kill everyone in city hall!"
Terrence regains his composure somewhat
"and if I heard right the Mayor isn't around, where is he?"

Not sure if theres a speaker phone esque thing on the headset, but if there is Terrence is aiming to relay both sides of the conversation through the headset to the rest of the team.

[Blackrat]

Sven takes the bowl of iceream and pays the girl, answering to her previous babbling. "Oh, vi nej film now. Ieg tak paus. Yü pretti. If yü want, yü kan com sii filming wyth mi." He takes a table nearest to the counter and sits down to enjoy the icecream.

City Hall
OOC: The head sets do have speaker functionality.

"Hey Captain Superior! Theres a plot to kill you using some kind of weird bullets maybe, and a group of Villains has apparently threatened to kill everyone in city hall!"

Captain Superior turns and steps away from the entrance way and gives Terrance a hard pat on the head in an almost dismissive manor. "I already know of the plot to kill everyone in this building, the mayor himself told me about it on the phone before Missy over there decided to let him step out of city hall. It doesn't surprise me that a would be third rate villain would think that weird "magical" bullets would defeat me; as if anything on this planet could defeat me. It must fill their petty little delusional lives with hope, isn't that right Missy?"

"Why are you trying to give me a guilt trip?"

Captain Superior cut off Terrance before he could ask about the mayor's location and spoke in a hushed tone. "Don't listen to her, she's just angry that I wouldn't have her unless she wore a bag over her body and I was ruffied." He smirked. " But what she doesn't know is that I'm immune to the effects of ruffies, so I wouldn't even go for her not matter what." Captain Superior began to laugh. "I can get super models, and not just the pretty ones, I'm also able to get the ones which are divinely beautiful, like the Nymphet. So there's no reason for me to bag common stock like Missy." Captain Superior smirked, "What were you going to ask me?"

"If I heard right the Mayor isn't around, where is he?"

"I'm also wondering the same thing. Unfortunately, no one in this building has a clue and I suspect Missy isn't telling me because she wants me to leave so that those villains can come by and kill all her coworkers..."

Missy quickly interrupts. "He's at the cafe."

"... You see, I know, because I can sense the innate darkness within her soul. Look at that face, it's not frigidness you see, it's pure evil."


The Cafe
"Oh, vi nej film now. Ieg tak paus. Yü pretti. If yü want, yü kan com sii filming wyth mi."

The girl squeals in excitement as Sven walks to his seat. While Sven is eating his notices the restroom door open slightly as it's occupant peaks out before timidly closing the door the moment it appeared that he got Sven's fleeting attention. After several moments, the girl leaves the counter to clean several of the cafe's empty tables.

A gunshot* echoed through the plaza as the girl cleaned the table next to Sven. The girl ducked under the table. "Ohmygodohmygodohmygod! More people are shooting at us!" She sobs. "I don't want to die!"

*This is the same gunshot that Keiko/Mikeal heard which shattered one of the glass doors at the City Hall before Terrance called out to Captain Superior.

 

[Ginnel]

Terrence takes in the pure evil of Missy and shakes his head in disbelief and sighs a little as Captain Superior is speaking, Terrence begins pulling his T shirt up over his head and drops his trousers revealing Mr TVs Green and Purple diamond uniform.
"Right so you'll stay here and keep yourself and the rest of city hall safe? Never fear the
Salton Stars!
will keep the Mayor safe! Oh yeah if you see a tall guy in red and white, a guy who looks like a viking who speaks stranger English than you Americans, a Japanese girl with a determined look on her face and the stunt actress Michelle Fox they're all part of our team"

Terrence makes to head past Captain Superior out of the front entrance of City Hall.

 

[hafrogman]

The Ten-Foot Pole's head whips around (practically literally) at the sound of the gunshot. He glances down at the police officer, even as he steps over and around the blockading vehicle.

"That's my cue."

He speaks into the headset as he makes his way onto the street, and heads east,

"The parking garage! I saw someone their earlier, but I couldn't get a look at him! I think he's the shooter!"

OOC: I'm waiting to see what Sven does before I place Keiko back in the plaza. All the characters will be synced in my next post.

Yes Ginnel, since you said the name people will assume that's what you're group's called (as soon as CS's 'zone of idol worship' fades), and they actually see the group in action. It's sad that someone had to see how much a tool CS is for people to get why to Keiko would hate him so much *cough* even before he arrested her *cough*. I'm thinking he would be the type to make a demeaning offer in exchange for her freedom, and she decided not to go with it.

Since Duskblade is temporarily unavailable (she's writing an article), and Reveille has gone AWOL once more, I'll be giving Michelle minor actions and treating her as an NPC for the time being.
