Yep 5pm Friday.
5 PM! So that's what happened! We thought it was midnight, and tried to put in a big order (for three guys in our group -- it was something like 12-15 books) but we didn't do it because the sale prices didn't register.

Anyway, we sent them an email -- with any luck they'll still honor the pricing. If not, I still want to get one or two of those books, but I won't buy nearly as many of them at full price. :(

I got 5 books, since I already have most of the others. This is where I really miss having a Local gaming store. If I had actually "seen" these books when they came out, They would have been in my collection.

Darkness & Dread: This book is great just for the new classes. These are perfect for DMs to use with Experts, Comoners and Warriors. They will make the "normal" people a little more impressive.

Elemental Lore: Great monsters!

Wildscape: The Enviromental series in just one book. Love the Ash Desert and the Living forest.

Portals & Planes and Monster's Handbook I have only skimmed but look good too.

The only disapointment I have with FFG is that they do not print enought books. I was really looking forward to the completion of the Spellcaster books, Evoker and Illusionist were very well done.

As to some reviews, when I am done reading...savoring...and digesting.

Is FFG really leaving the D20 Market?

That would be a damn shame. :\

Midnight is still running strong, but I think they are stopping their generic sourcebooks. And that does make since since the best of them were written by Mearls and Malhovak swiped him up.

Alas FFG has a problem with their shipping prices... $22 dollars to Canada is their minimum. Anyone know why that is?

Depends on how many books you ordered. Also, all the options were UPS. IIRC, UPS has very high prices on shipments to Canada. I've heard horror stories about Canadian Customs charges on UPS shipments, also.

I ordered 5 books from Bastion through UPS (do a lot of my orders through UPS) and the prices are generally very reasonable. Under $10 unless you want it the next day. The brokerage fees only apply to very large purchases. The 4 (four) books I wanted from FFG was nowhere near needing that price. Check the UPS website. The weight on those books would have to have been insane.

Damn shipping!

You have no idea. It made me hesitate, but finally, I caved in and ordered stuff, which I still haven't received.

                                                                       Total: $139.85

As you can see, damn shipping more than doubles the damn price! $60 worth of book, $80 worth of damn shipping! And I did take the cheapest damn shipping option (hence why I'm still waiting for them)!

Fortunately, US dollars are weak and puny compared to the mighty, fearsome* Eurobuck. :D It alleviates the damn shipping cost a bit.

* Especially for european exportations.
