Netflix announces deal to buy WB and HBO

Jake Taper and his book has made me question their integrity already. It's still my go to outside of local news but I'm more cautious. I would agree it'll get worse with Paramount, but what would Netflix do with a news network? What do they know from news?
The Netflix offer doesn't include CNN while the Paramount one does. If the Netflix deal were to go through, CNN would have to be spun off along with some other properties not part of the WB/HBO cinema family. Paramount has been negotiating for the whole enchilada.
And while traditional news hasn't exactly been covering itself with glory recently, it has the capacity to get a LOT worse.

The Betflix offer splits off all of the Discovery cable channels as an independent cable channel company, Discovery. Paramount wants to buy them, too.

Same, a lot of my favorite movies and series are as blu-rays in my collection. Unfortuntely more and more movies are not even getting a physical release anymore, series even more rarely.
I usually find what I'm looking for. Sometimes at a price I don't want to pay, but it's there. Superman and Fantastic Four got Blu-ray releases. Maybe you're looking for stuff that's more obscure? I haven't looked for a lot of anime because it's expensive.

Not even that obscure, but definitely more than superhero blockbusters. But region is a problem for me, I cant import from US market.

anime bluerays are absurdly expensive, yeah. Sometimes they get cheaper after some time, but not always.

I like what Amazon has done. You still have to pay for each service but they're all in one place. I watch Paramount and Apple TV through Amazon prime video. You can even sign up for PBS streaming through them.

Which is Amazon re-inventing cable premium channels...

I'm not sure I have a big problem with that. You're still paying for what you want. You're not paying for what you don't want. I think it's still an a la carte style offering.

You are still paying for entire channel catalogs, most of which you probably don't watch.

I'm not paying for the hundreds of other channels I don't want. As it is now, I have to open the apps for each streamer to decide that they have nothing I'm in the mood for before I give up and go back to YouTube. On Amazon Prime I can scroll through the different streamer offerings only to decide they have nothing I'm in the mood for before I go back to YouTube.

It is prophecied:
The day will come when the might Amazon will slay the Google. On that day, all that was once Google's will become Amazon's. From that day forth I will never have to switch apps again....or something like that.
