They do indeed suck.

I ordered from them twice a couple years ago, and while they weren't the fastest, I got my stuff in a few weeks.

Now it appears they have grown arrogant and no longer care about customer service at all. I ordered something and it ended up as 3 packages stretched out over about 4 months. Do yourself a favor and browse the mini's at their site, but buy them somewhere else.

New Wave = Not Cool

I too must agree that New Wave sucks. A couple years ago I made a very large order from them. I bought like $200 worth of Games Workshop miniatures. That was back when the had larger discounts, so I pretty much bought my Warhammer 40000 all at once.

It took for ever for it to get to me. I tracked my order on UPS's website and watched as it went to a small town a few counties away and then instead of continuing to my house, it got shipped back to them. I called them up and they said they would send it out again as soon as it came back to them. And do you know what happened?

It went to the same place and then turned around and went back to them. Apparently they had entered in my zip code wrong by one digit when I made my order so it was going to Marlon IA instead of Marion IA like it should have.

I finally got my order. Well most of it. After all that, there were still a couple of minis that were backordered or something. I eventually got all my minis though.

So yeah, in conclusion, New Wave sucks.

Go to www.gamersattic.com. They can't quite match New Wave prices but they do come close (Faiths and Pantheons for $25 instead of $23) furthermore they don't charge shipping for orders over $25. Furthermore mine got here in good shape within 5 days. I might not be indicative of the typical customer populace but at least I'll shop there again

Granted, I'm a competitor and highly biased, but it seems to me they don't need trained monkeys. As far as I can tell, they've been getting away with charging orders and only shipping half of them for years. Some people even order from them multiple times before they realize they're being screwed!

If I did that instead of actually giving people what they pay for I'd be a very wealthy man. As far as I know, it's not even legal to charge someone more than a couple of days before an item ships.

But hey, they have low low prices!!!!

That was my problem, I made multiple orders before I received my stuff due to past relations that went well (except for one mini). It's also nice that their invoices do not contain order numbers too.

Yeah, I'll be honest, it was the prices, especially with some mini's being so outragiously expensive.

I ordered a batch of Confrontation minis from them a year or two ago. A few arrived right away, then I got an email saying they were back-ordered on the others. They all eventually trickled in, but I think the last one was 6 or 8 months after the initial order.

That was kinda understandable, since they probably had to wait on getting those minis from France. If they're having trouble shipping out more readily available stuff, and their phones are disconnected, I'd be pretty concerned.

Well, as you are experiencing first hand, price should not be your only concern. I'd rather buy things at full price than have to hassle for months about my order! Fortunately, there are plenty of places that offer both good service and some discount.

Anyway, I've personally had some bad experiences with New Wave and some just strange ones, which I've already detailed on this board. (Long story short, they sent me two big boxes of Blood Bowl that I never ordered. So I got maybe $300 worth of free Blood Bowl after some minimal hassle. If only I wanted a bunch of Trolls wearing helmets and carrying footballs.) As far as I can tell, New Wave has been running some shoddy business practices (taking orders they know they'll have to partial ship without mentioning it; never, ever answering their phones) for several years now. Caveat Emptor.

I want to know that if you did, did you always have something on backorder and did they still charge you, and did you ever get the merchandise?

Yes and yes, but thankfully- I ordered a very small shipment to try them out.

In the future, I would suggest you
1) order a small shipment from a company with your first transaction (the person who ordered hundreds of dollars worth of stuff was being silly)
2) Research them- ask around. Ask here, I know I have personally warned against these guys a few times and have seen others do so.

Another Option to get discounts

There is a place I deal with since there is no hobby stores worth anything where I live. I know the guy and he discounts 20% on all new items that you order and I normally get my order in about 4 days. Save for the time his computer crashed and that was not his fault. And that only took about 8 days. His site is
