NG vs. NE: Neutral Evil is Victorious!

Round 392

Bugsy[sblock]You hear the rush of wind coming out of the Victory Zone to your north, and also above the wall over your head. It is your turn.[/sblock]Oromeax[sblock]You had to back up to fly over the wall, but you can still make it to your destination. You sense part of something at 85N85E.[/sblock]

[sblock] spellcraft +11 if it helps with determining the exact nature of the wind, though I personally suspect control winds.

Do you have the stats of vermin lord? If not, I'll give you them. Or, more of them, or as needed if you wish.

Bugsy moves north to 90n80e, hoping to see Oromeax inside the wall. He will then complete the spell (a second standard action, caster level 20) and position the centipede swarms mostly inside the stone structure. Actually, if Oromeax is in there, we'll fill it up with 9 swarms and put the 10th at 85n90e. If Oromeax is not in there, we'll put 4 inside the structure (centered) and 6 outside at 70n(75/85/95e) and (80/90n)100e and 90n110e. [/sblock]

OOC: This is going to by fun.

Infiniti[sblock]Bugsy Malone recognizes it as control winds (25 Spellcraft check).

I have the Monster Manual III, so I have the stats. Thank you for the offer. :)

Bugsy recognizes the white radiance surrounding Oromeax as dispel evil (28 Spellcraft check).[/sblock]Bugsy moves to 90N80E, managing to ignore the wind. The two combatants see each other; Oromeax is at 85N55E in the fog.

A whole lotta centipedes appear, carpeting the 30 foot by 30 foot area (with SW corner at 80N50E) that is bounded by the stone walls, with another ten by ten swarm appearing at 85N90E.

The centipede carpets (each 10 by 10) at 80N70E and 90N70E are blown by the wind. Swarm 8070 takes 20 points of nonlethal damage and is dispersed. Swarm 9070 gets blown against the SE corner of the stone wall, taking 26 points of nonlethal damage. It has 36 HP, has taken 26 nonlethal damage, and is on the west side of the wall at 80N80E, including 5Z.

The centipede swarm at 90N60E gets dispersed by the wind.

None of the centipede swarms inflict any damage to Oromeax (DR 10+).

The fog gets dispersed by the wind.

Oromeax begins round 393.

Oromeax, you see a large insectile humanoid with two legs that it stands on, much like a human would. Of course, your opponent is not so easy to see because a 5ft-radius cloud of flying and crawling insects of all kinds surrounds him, concealing him. It has two big pincer claws that snap angrily at you and two more arms (four in total). One of the other arms holds a beautifully crafted cold iron scimitar and the other holds a buckler. On Bugsy's back is a composite longbow and a quiver of arrows. Draped over his shoulder is a forest green cloak with silver runes, shining off the reflected carapaces of the scattered centipedes. Sticking out of Bugsy's studded leather armor belt is a ruby-colored wand.

Bugsy stands a full 12-feet tall and weighs about 1,500 Imperial pounds. He motions with a pincer claw somewhat like Neo did in the matrix and speaks extremely fluent draconic, "You're a pathetic excuse for a dragon." Bugsy gestures indignantly at the stone walls, dispersing some of the insects surrounding him, but they are very quickly replenished, almost out of thin air. "Hiding amidst all of this rubble?"

Mod: [sblock] Bugsy has cover, right? [/sblock]

OOC: Is all of the fog gone, or only that within the stone structure?

OOC: The fog north of the stone structure is still there, as well as that to the west of the structure and south of the western hole, but the rest is gone.

Bugsy[sblock]There is no stone wall at 95N80E, and part of Bugsy is at 95N80E and 95N85E, so I thought Bugsy does not have cover. Is that correct?[/sblock]

Mod: [sblock] But part of Bugsy is behind the wall, thus the +4 AC bonus and bonus on reflex saves (the latter of which I might be more concerned with). Is it just as easy to hit half a target as the whole target? Isn't that what cover means? [/sblock]

OOC: There's very little fog north of the structure. Keep in mind that the spread counts from the origin and has to go around walls, so there is no actual fog on the north side of the north wall. So, what I have now are two patches of fog, one 10ft wide (e-w) x 5ft tall (n-s) at 110n40e. The other is a 10ft square at 90n40e with a 5ft protrusion at 95n35e. Anyway, I think the fog is not much of a factor anyway and hope it gets dispelled when Oromeax is defeated by Bugsy.

Bugsy[sblock]I take the first paragraph from the PHB, page 151, Big Creatures and Cover.

Oromeax can choose to attack any square that Bugsy Malone occupies, and he can choose which square to attack from. If Oromeax chooses to attack Bugsy at 95N85E from 100N70E, there is no cover.

Bugsy does get the benefit of cover if he has to make a Reflex save from something originating from the other side of the wall.[/sblock]OOC: Infiniti is correct about where the fog is. Thank you, Infiniti, for figuring out exactly where the fog was. I was too lazy because it did not matter yet, and figured you would figure it out for us. :)

"More making sure you cowards can't hide in here from me." Oromeax replies.

He lashes out with a full attack through the opening at 95n80e with Power Attack +12, just to see how tough this insect-man is.

Round 393

Oromeax hits with everything but the tail (rolled 41-12=29; worst hitting roll 48-12=36) despite the cloud of insects surrounding Bugsy Malone, inflicting 158 points of damage. Bugsy Malone has 109 HP remaining after healing.

Round 393

Oromeax hits with everything but his tail (rolled 41-12=29; worst hitting roll 48-12=36) despite the cloud of insects surrounding Bugsy Malone, inflicting 158 points of damage. Bugsy has 109 HP after healing.

Swarm 8050 takes 25 points of nonlethal damage from being blown away, and disperses.
Swarm 8060 takes 25 points of nonlethal damage from being blown away, and disperses.
Swarm 10070 gets blown to the wall. It is at the NE corner of the stone wall, has 27 HP, and has taken 18 points of nonlethal damage.
Swarm 8070 can move back to 8070, still with 26 nonlethal damage and 36 HP.
The four swarms that can bite Oromeax inflict no damage.
