I completely saw my character on a horse, and had plenty of money to purchase one. Now that I see Lotus has a horse, I know I won't be the only one riding, so I purchased one, if that isn't a problem.

Horses are no problem, as long they are for flavor and not mounted combat. Don't think I'm ready for that yet. :) (Nothing is very far away for this scenario).

Misc rules - please read

Miscellaneous rules. Let me know if you have any questions/concerns.

I don't much care how you roll your dice. You can use an online tool (such as invisible castle) if you like, or you can roll real, physical dice and report the results in your posts on the honor system. If you prefer, I can roll the dice for you.

I like rolling physical dice, so you'll have to trust that I'm not making up the numbers (there's that honor system thing again).

I do ask two things:

  1. Please report both the raw dice roll, and the modifiers you think you are adding to the roll.
  2. For suspense/mystery reasons, I will perform all die rolls in non-combat skill challenges on your behalf, and I will not report the results of the rolls. Just give me your skill bonuses and I'll do the rest.

This is my first time doing PBP, I'm used to PBEM, I guess it isn't different but when it comes to organising ourselves - whats the best way to go about this...look at everyones character sheets and determine whose got the best skill sets and also how we will deploy those skills among us to gain the bonuses and strategy/roleplay to get through this????

Can bluff be used for this skill challenge? I've got a roleplay angle for it in mind, basically to claim that the rings can be used to locate the dead body for a proper burial. And I have this nifty utility power that's just begging to be used...

Thievery would have been my first choice, but the PHB seems pretty clear that you can't steal something that is actually being held. Presumably the ring and the paperweight both qualify. I suspect our DM of doing this on purpose! :)

Failing those, I think I'm down to intimidate or diplomacy at +3.
 

I don't know how you want to play this, but it seems to me that due to the PbP nature here, we could tell you what we want to do with the bonus, then you could tell us success or failure, then we could post on the IC thread, explaining what we say in character (full of flavor that explains why we might succeed or fail). Just a suggestion, feel free to tell me this is a bad idea.

As for Todarr: my skillset is basically social, so I will begin with Diplomacy, using my size to get her attention on me, and then speaking to her very calmingly, contradicting my size and stature by slouching a little, to begin to reassure her we are there to help. (In coming rounds, if that does not work, i will switch to Intimidate, getting irritated with her not trusting us and, straightening to my full height and, assuming I still maintain her attention, becoming very commanding and cross.)
