Just to answer a couple of questions and point some things out. Let me know if I've missed anything:

You have 3 100' ropes. There is a hole in the webs near the bridges and ledge between the two towers thanks to Evendur and Ront where you could avoid the webs (although Erevan and Ezraen have learned that the spiders can shoot webs...so that still might be a problem)

The trap on the chest is disabled but it is still locked. Ezraen can help Erevan to pick the lock to negate disadvantage (this is RAW...I'd have liked to see the help action require a roll of some sort to avoid hindering your ally...but we'll stick with raw because I'd rather not burden us with unnecessary house rules...so help away)
 

Actually, you may have missed it, Erevan rolled again for the lock, with disadvantage AND got really high rolls! I would say he basically went on ahead without me even being able to find a way to help.

As for being able to assist, I would leave it up to DM's call. In this case, I would have voted against it, because it is just too tight a space for someone to be of any help, but I thought I would ask anyway.
 

Re: the hole and the rope. Doesn't purposely missing the webs mean risking 3d6 bludgeoning damage when we hit the pools?

And the rope...it didn't seem like we had time to use it. I figured that with a party of this size shimmying down a rope, some of us would get mauled by quaggoths up top before we even got on on the rope. Plus I figured there would likely be some sort of athletics check which, if failed, would mean falling and facing that 3d6 bludgeoning damage again.

Seemed like everyone just jumping together for the webs and getting unstuck if necessary might be our best bet, since that negates facing the 3d6 hit. Plus Sarith said he could probably briefly keep the spiders off us.

If you guys want to do something different, though, I'll gladly go edit my last IC post (DM willing).
 

The quaggoths are not out yet. They will be soon. How soon is soon? Don't know.

They also will have to jump to get to the middle area where the hole is.

But you are right...both methods have their perils. There are also the demons flying about that might take great joy in attacking helpless characters on ropes and a whole heard of PCs and NPcs on the webs at once would icrease your individual chances....5 spiders cant get all of you!

I would certainly allow a character on a rope a check to reduce damage.

I haven't looked at the ic thread yet...at work. Probably wont until late this evening so edit away...
 

Remember that there is still a rope hanging from the tower with a spider at the end! So conceivably we can use that to get a ways down before dropping the rest. Also, if one of us can make a lasso of sorts and get the noose around the spider and the bolt, we can extend the rope by almost another 100'.
