Ok, so I only bring this up because I just saw this episode of Monk called Mr. Monk and the TV Star, which reflected TV series, and one of the characters brought up an interesting idea: she hated the new theme song in the TV series in the episode.

So my question is:

Do you like the new Monk theme (It's a Jungle Out There), or the old one?

EDIT:

Me, myself, I can't decide. I like the new one, but the old one was also... Monk.

I chose the old theme, but I should clarify.

I have no problem with "It's a Jungle Out There." I like the song. And it's certainly not inappropriate.

But the old one was Monk. It was absolutely perfect for the show, it had spirit, it had mood, and it personified the character somehow. The new song just can't compare.

I didn't vote. I don't remember the old one. Is it online somewhere? (I do like the new one, though.)

I liked the old one. And I loved them addressing viewer complaints about the issue in the episode -- and then having the closing theme to that episode be the old song. That was fantastic.

Voted since you asked, but really, not a hot-button issue for me one way or the other. As long as Tacky gets his Monk, he's happy.

I preferred the old song, too. Although, it could be just because it was the original theme. But it had a nice jaunty feel to it.

I prefer the old song as well. It fit Monk perfectly. The new one just makes me double-check that I'm not about to watch Toy Story :)

I would prefer to have the old song, but I would even take it as the closer music. Like Steve Jung said, it was... Jaunty. :)

I love the show, old or new song. My biggest complaint is TOO DAMN FEW EPISODES! They run, what, 13-show seasons? I know USA can do more shows this way, but Tony Shaloub, Bitty Schram, and Ted Levine light that screen up so well I could darned well watch a full season of it!

That's odd. I just had a break-down, and my post posted, but the date and time didn't change the thread order. Hmm.
