Kago barrels through the line, rearing his warhammer with blood in his eyes. He delivers one powerful swing toward the quaggoth's face, but somehow manages to smash only the stone wall behind him.

Kamael swore to himself and rolled his eyes, muttering to himself as much as anyone else, "This isn't going to end well, but he's too enraged now to listen to reason.."

Looking over at Raza, he made eye contact with her and shrugged.

Derendil wordlessly stepped forward--over the body of the derro--to Q6 and clawed at first Solace then Kago. The attack against Solace struck true, dealing 4 points of damage. Kago, who'd donned his armor before sitting his watch with Raza, was better protected; Derendil missed him.

OOC: Solace: [roll0] for [roll1] points claw damage

Kago: [roll2] for [roll3] points claw damage

Brinn's headbutt instantly felled His Highness, who slumped on top of Buppido.

OOC: END OF COMBAT, please post at will. Both Buppido and Derendil are dead. Raza's produce flame has a duration of 10 minutes. And, again, the long rest was interrupted for all, so no benefits from this long rest. We've since benefitted from new information in the form of Mike Mearls's tweets on the subject of the game designers' intent regarding when a long rest is interrupted, and have arrived at the conclusion that it takes an hour's worth of combined interruption to disqualify the long rest.

After examining the corpses of Buppido and His Highness, Brinn determined that either could be eaten. Without salt, spices, or sugar, however, curing and preserving them would be difficult. The flesh could be cooked over a fire, which would help "preserve" it for a day's march, but eating spoiled meat after that would likely result in queasiness and/or illness.

OOC: It'd be a Constitution saving throw to eat spoiled meat. The DC and the after-effects are detailed in the hardcover, which is at my house. I'll check later, and report back.

Kago begins separating the quaggoth from whatever gear it might have been carrying. He then snatches up Buppido's dagger from the ground and unceremoniously begins to remove the skin from the meat.

"The smell will attract prey. We take what we can and move on."

OOC: While it's not prepared at this moment, by the time it's needed, Kago will be able to cast Purify Food and Drink to save the meat. Unless there's another reason that won't work?
